I was in my local health food store today, looking for some seeds to sprout. Their selection was pretty low but I picked up some Chia seeds. The sales girl handed me a bag of hemp seeds. I asked her if they were "sproutable" and she said yes, but they look like they're split or hulled - unlike any hemp seed I've ever seen. I brought them both home and have started soaking them but the hemp seeds are looking really cloudy, unlike the Chia seeds which look like they have a gel bubble around them (excuse my extremely technical term )...so I Googled it and it appears that hemp seeds are illegal in the US (I guess that makes sense, huh). So am I correct in assuming these seeds can't be sprouted? They're delicious just as they are, so I don't to waste any more if they can't be sprouted.
