Default What do I use to get rid of Ecoli?

I am new to sprouting & on the seed packets it says I need to soak my seeds in a bleach solution to kill ecoli. I am very hesitant in useing bleach on anything that I will be eating. What alternatives can I use? Can I use distilled white vinegar instead? I bought the seeds from a local nursery, brand it Botanical Interests.

    I don't use anything.

I don't believe in babying my immune system.

I don't use anything either. Rinse those babies as much as you can and make sure they're ORGANIC.

Lets not give into the fear tactics. Sprouting is amazing for you. Are they going to make Sprouting scary like they do with getting some sun?

    Happy sprouting!

funnily enough, you are much MORE likely to get e-coli on organic veggies than on those grown using non organic. E-coli comes from the gut of animals and animal manures are often the primary fertiliser used in organic fruit and veg production - although I realise that this won't apply to home grown sprouts :)

The key is to keep your immune system healthy.

True, Mystic Tree. E-Coli or harmful chemicals? LOL

I agree with you on keeping your immune system strong. :)

I grew up with a farming background. I'm probably quite at home with e-coli!

Sure some people have died, but most people don't and never will. You can't live your life in fear. Ann Wigmore ate sprpouts for 40 years and she never dies from them, either have any of the Hippocrates people, and neither have l nor other sproutarians.
