Question What's the story with Raw Milk???

    Hi everyone,

I am currently breast feeding my 12 month old and would like to start giving him milk to supplement but his Dr. suggested raw cow's milk or goats milk.

I'm kinda grossed out by raw milk....I mean, isn't there a reason it's pasteurized in the first place? What about parasites and bacteria and stuff?? Does anyone have any experience with it? I did a banana search and didn't find anything.

I do have access to a store that sells raw milk, cheese and yogurts so it's an option. I read in the baby book that babies need whole milk until they are 24 months old...I plan on still breast feeding for awhile but would like to introduce another source of milk for him.

I am more comfortable with sugar-free almond milk...but nuts aren't supposed to be good for babies.

    Any suggestions? Thoughts?

    Thanks bunches!

First of all, the worst thing one can give their child is milk, especially pasteurized since it's dead. It also causes many health issues.

Also, this is a raw vegan site where dairy products are not discussed.

Please refer to http://notmilk.com for more information on dairy and why it's unhealthy for human children.

That was my instinct but didn't know if there was an exception for children. I don't drink milk myself...but my Dr insisted on giving it to my baby I was just looking for some information here, sorry if I offended anyone.

actually hon .. u should look into raw almond milk on this site and mix it with tahinni ( ground seasame seeds ) the seasame seeds has 5 times the amount of calicum that a glass of cows milk does and is much easier to digest then cows milk . mixing it with the almond will make it sweeter so ur baby can tolerate the taste . if that doesnt work u should try coconut milk . buy coconuts and open them urself . young coconuts are best for babys . u get the milk out and then scrap out the white coconut meat and blend it with the milk . it will look kinda slimy ... this is fine . good luck to you .
