devils' angel -- congratulations! This is going to be a fun journey -- enjoy it!

I too am thinking I am pregnant. Excited, but trying to halt the excitement until I find out for sure -- June 1st, I have an appointment with my PA. Though I plan to use a midwife and have already contacted her.

Eva -- where is your site that you mentioned having a page on your pregnancy? I can not find it! Everything I find of yours is dated 2008. Direct me please, I'd love to read it.

I also want to do 100% raw. AND want to make sure I get the nutrients this baby and I need. So today I've been doing lots of web searches. I have been mostly raw for 6 years. Though lately I've done my share of cheating.

Anxiously awaiting June 1st and confirmation -- one way or the other. The thing that is confusing me is light spotting. Been googling that too and sounds like it can be normal or it can spell trouble. . . I choose the normal route.

Hey hey! Congrats to ya! I'm having fun with this, getting bigger and bigger but still with TONS of energy and feeling great!!

The site is http://uncooking101.com. Aleesha (the moderator) prefers not to see links to individual pages, so your best bet is to search "pregnancy" in the upper left corner. I hope that helps!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

    :-) xxo Eva

    Unhappy blah !!!!!

thank u so much !!! it is awesome and im enjoying everything but the nauseaness and throwing up . i believe that scince i started out vegan for two months and then went back to raw ... i found out that i was pregnant . i really think im detoxing while pregnant . this is not cool . everything is starting to taste like dirt or just make my stomache upset and i cant take any thing with ginger b/c it is a natural birth control and can cause miscarriage while pregnant . i dont think a little here and there will hurt but taking it daily will definately cause problems . i have been just staying away from it all together .
i have been making myself eat so that i get all my vitamens for the little tyke . my trouble maker . but i am gettng tired of frocing myself to eat . water tastes the best right now . im craving enchiladas right now . maybe theres a good recipe on here without walnuts . they make me sicker then all daylights !!! the only nuts i can stand right now are cashews and almonds .

devils angel -- you know, yesterday I was reading a bit about raw pregnancy and found a site discussing loss of appitite while pregnant -- their thinking is your body is trying to tell you something -- like it needs to clean up the garbage, therefore it blocks hunger. Maybe just water is all you need. They claim a 1-3 day fast is fine and very healing. I think the site is: fawfoodexplained.com/prenatal. (copy and paste)

Let me know if this site is not the right one. I'll search a bit more.

Thus far, I'm doing great. Almost scarey! Anxious to get this officially declared. I go see the PA Wednesday. This morning I had a very strong sense that I'm carrying two. Wouldn't that be amazing? I am a twin and never wanted twins. But, that is slowly changing!

My morning breakfast is usually bananas, nuts and water. Lunch is a big green smoothie (more bananas, grapes, blueberries, mango -- whatever fruit I have on hand, and lots of greens from my garden. Oh, I also use 1 tablespoon of sesame seed and 2 tablespoons of chia seed. I used to add flax seed, but read somewhere where that flax oil is not good for growing fetus, so cut it out. Supper is some kind of salad, usually not green. Then I feel free to snack on almonds throughout the day.

Eva, thanks for the web site. I will check it out.

    BDraw,

    C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Er, maybe? I hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had twins eight years ago, and my thoughts are that long-lasting spotting could be something to worry about. But if it's only short-lived, then since it's so early, could just be "implantation bleeding."

I knew right from the get-go I was going to have twins as I did a quantitative blood test --which measures your hcg levels --not just whether you're pregnant or not ---and my levels tripled after two days. (They typically double with a singleton) Or if your hcg levels are way high, you might be able to figure it out if you know the exact date of your last period. .

Anyway, I absolutely would not do an ultrasound. I knew I was having twins, so what was the necessity?

Then at six weeks, I began bleeding HEAVILY! I freaked! Now I only gushed for a little while, but went and caved and had an ultrasound, and everything was fine---absolutely fine. One of my neighbors, who also had twins had this exact same thing happen, and they're fine too.

    Best of luck ---

Let us know your test results, K?

Mary Kay -- thanks so for responding, I'd hoped you would. So many questions for you , especially if I am carrying two.

I just went and checked my calender. My spotting was at week 7, 8 and 9 -- every other day or two and very minimal. That's interesting about you and your friend spotting at 6 weeks, wonder what it means.

I'm praying my way through all of this and trusting God. I believe He has even given me names -- both girls. My husband and I are both giddy, okay, beyond giddy. We haven't told very many yet -- afraid of the response. Most people our age are preparing for retirement and that second home by the lake. We are in our early fifties. We've also adopted 3 (siblings) six years ago, which spoke to many as CRAZY. But, you gotta do what God called you to do -- our greatest desire.

Needless to say, we have a house full of kids and grand kids, with a grand baby on the way. We should be due about the same time. Strange! My last pregnancy (he's 12) was shared with my daughter and daughter-in-law. I really can not imagine what it would be like with no kids in the house, and, living my life dreaming of the coming weekend at the lake house. Empty-nest syndrome, I will never experience.

DA -- I'll check for that site I was talking about again. It was really interesting. Great about your friend. This will really draw you two together. Fun!

Okay, I've rattled on long enough. Must get busy! Stay tuned Mary Kay, while I prepare my question list. Thanks!!

CONGRATS ON THE BABY NEWS!! WOOOOHOOOO!!

I will definitely be following this thread b/c I want my next pregnancy to be a raw one.

I've heard that being a 100% raw sets you up for a PAIN FREE birth! Sounds exciting!

    BDraw,

So how far along are you?

Spotting at wks 7, 8 and 9, sound like implantation spotting to me...If it stopped.

If it means anything, my neighbor and I didn't just "spot" - we gushed!

If you are in your early 50's then I suppose, that like me you used "science" to help you conceive. Feel free to pm me. I was 46 when I got pg, and 47 when I delivered. So, yep, I'm an older mom too.

Best of luck, Pls don't be disappointed if it's a singleton ---way easier on your body ---and on nursing too! Sigh, I nursed them until they were almost four. In the early part of nursing, it was the most difficult -sleep deprived time of my life....and I've pulled many an all-nighter in college and for getting projects done!

    Jen Rose,

LOL, I have a hard time believing that having a healthy/raw pregnancy could automatically make it "pain free." Less pain --- maybe!

well according to the ebook by jingee from thegardendiet.com ... her pregnancy ebook made it seem like it wasnt painful for her . her very last pregnancy was 100 % raw and two of them were vegan and the other one was 95 percent i believe she said and the 100 % was the easiest shortest and very enjoyable birth she had done . she did do an unassited estactic birth i believe she called it . it was a really good read and im hoping to have a birth simalair to that . i will have to have midwife , be in a birthing center and things like that , but i hope to have a very easy and enjoyable birth . that would be really nice .
