Get some new seed and see what happens. My millet is doing well.
What about red kidney beans Mr.Raw?
Abit risky from what l read (can be abit poisonous). Might be best to avoid them.

lt only takes a short time to adjust to them, and they change your taste buds towards hardcore foods very very quickly and allow your stomach to change quickly towards accepting more food. l can't believe how much my stomach and taste buds have changed through drinking smoothies, getting all the calories and nutrients is easy now (it's a good thing when starting off raw). lf the colour doesn't look foul l feel ripped off lol.
l picked a big bunch of weeds yesterday, and on my way home in the car my mouth was salivating at the smell. The more potent, the more l like it.

What is the source of your seeds? I've had good luck with many grocery bags of beans for eating, but not with grains, recently tried to sprout some barley - thought they got little tails, but that was just the swelling up - went no where.....I tried to puree and make a bread thingy - but it tasted terrible. I'll have to send away for some barley for sprouting....

I brought some of the mung beans in...going to toss them with my salad....I've done that with wheat berry sprouts......

What kind of wheat grass juicer do you use? how do you monitor the temp?
I had the sundance wheateena red and it got so hot after just a few ounces of juice....plus sometimes there were metal shavings in it! I got a new screw thingy, but still had heat probs.....

wow - just had my salad for lunch - the usual, with chopped romaine, celery, avo, red pepper, and cuke with french dressing, plus the alfalfa sprouts I've been adding since Friday, and todays new addition, the mung sprouts....
Now - this could just be a pure coincidence, but I feel definitely different...physically - mentally.....different.....
if I was at a bar, i'd think someone had slipped me a micky, seriously.....
Now - about the taste......
I'll admit to being a little fearful of adding those nuggets to my fav salad combo.....they had a tiny crunch and a starchy flavor, but I think I'm ok with it....with the dressing and the avo, it was pretty ok....
now....what will be the next experiment? LOL!

Am I the only one that finds their taste really ugly? I don't know how is Mr Raw drinking these blended! I tried, and not even adding a banana seems to fix the taste :/

Garbanzos are the worse! I was worried these would be like those but thankfully very mild, and with the rest of the salad, it was fine!
I tried to make humus with sprouted garbanzos a zillion times.....thankfully - found the zucchini versions......
I told mr raw I'm not up for those power drink of his!
So far so good with the salad versions!

The mung bean smoothies are actually my favourite. Not a fan of sprouted grains so l must mix those with sprouted beans. Lentil and kelp smoothie is good, as is weed juice.
Dime: l wouldn't give up on the mung beans, they are well worth consuming in decent quantities. They just need to be given a chance. l started eating alfalfa and mung bean sprouts before meals (not so hard); this changes the taste buds quickly. After a while l would do smoothies with them but try not to taste the mixture for a while (a week or two), after a while you will be able to handle the taste very easily and will grow to enjoy it. lt's all small steps. Doing this is one of the best things ever, so rewarding.
Garbanzos were very strong the first few times l had them, but now l can drink them easily. l'm having one right now: garbanzo sprouts, wheat sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, and fermented wheat sprout juice smoothie.

I had all these sprouting seeds sitting around going inert.....this thread got my back in the kitchen, soaking and rinsing!

Regarding the chestnuts:
* the ones with the shell on them still haven't sprouted yet (been about two weeks). This could be a blessing actually...gives me more storage time up my sleeve.
* 50% the ones l did take the shell off have sprouted. Woo hoo, definitely time to party...but with who lol...who's going to celebrate that lol.
