Sprouting Buckwheat and dehydrating
Hi,
I notice a lot of breakfast recipes need Sprouted Buckwheat. Is it possible to sprout lots of it and then dehydrate it and store for months in a sealed jar to use for different recipes?
-
Absolutely - I do it all the time so I have it on hand for recipes. Plus, my husband loves it as a breakfast cereal, "Buckwheaties". You can also do it with things like almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds - although for nuts and seeds, I keep them in the freezer after I've soakedm sprouted and dehydrated. Buckwheat and oats I keep in the cupboard. *Ü*

Thats great to know. Thanks Deb. Will sprout a load of them now.

Thanks for this thread. I just started sprouting. What an amazing process that was to watch! Yesterday I made Alissa's Vegetable Nori Rolls (with a few alterations) and they were fantastic. Who woulda thought parsnips . . .
So, Deb, should I dehydrate mung beans, freeze them, or just make enough so I can eat them fresh?
Thanks, Clare

Hi Clare ~ That is a very good question! I've never dehydrated mung beans, instead (like you asked) I've always just made enough to eat them fresh. I'd be interested to know though if someone has dehydrated them and if so, how they used them. Perhaps in a cracker or such.
Yes - isn't sprouting something to see?? I wish you continued success and fun with it! *Ü*

So do i, i use that so much. Granola and grind it to make cookies, muffins, pancakes, etc....
I love them with cinamon, raison, banana and a raw vegan milk (most the time almond). Such a good granola.
Enjoy
