Default Green Star Gold GP-E1503 performance issues

    Hello everyone.

I purchased a GreenStar Gold model GP -E1503 from www.juiceland.co.uk 13 months ago.

It was on offer becuase it had a small 5 pence sized dent in the palstic work on the side... barely noticeable. They told me actual juicer is 100% ok inside.

When it arrived it worked perfectly well and continued to work perfectly well until 1 month ago when we noticed the pulp becoming wetter and wetter.

I emailed savant distribution (who cover warranty in UK) and they sent me two new gears out. Today I used the juicer with the new gears for the first time and I can't say the pulp is much dryer at all, and further concerning is the fact that the entire front half of the juicer is now "bobbing" up and down when juicing produce.

    Here's some extra info...

We only ever juice apple, carrot, celery, parsely and ginger. We always ensure we use the firmest produce.
The juice extraction body part has cracked all over on two occasions. Both times Savant Distribution replaced the part quickly. They are a very good company!

I fear that this problem won't/can't be fixed and that I will have to put up with wet pulp forever. For £450 I thought I was buying a no-nonsense piece of kit that would work properly for many decades if not my whole life.
PLEASE can ANYONE let me know what is causing these performance issues and how to fix it!

I would ask them to replace the whole machine. You have tried the replace parts route and now I think it's time to call it a day with this machine and ask for a full replacement.

    Hi guys, thanks for replying!

I have emailed Savant Distribution asking (very politely) for a full replacment so fingers crossed now!

I will let you all know how I get on.

    Update:

I posted the GreenStar Gold juicer to Savant and they have since recieved and fixed the juicer reporting that the internal gears were slightly out of alignment.

This makes sense becuase since I first got the juicer I always found that the two gears didn't exactly line up in that triangle shaped configuration and that when inserted into the body of the juicer always had to be twisted a little to fit.

I should be recieving the fixed juicer this Monday or Tuesday. I hope it's fixed properly!

    Update:

I have since recieved the juicer back from Savant and so far have used it 3-4 times, making 3-4 litres per time of carrot/apple juice.

The first time all was well. The pulp was very dry and the front of the machine wasn't bobbing up and down anymore.

However the last couple of times the bobbing movment has got worse than it was pre-repair, but the juicing performance seems to still be ok (for now atleast).

I'm not happy about the bobbing movment.

Far as I know, 'sposed to be that way. It's that way on my Samson; was that way on my GS. Have you had to do that since you got it back?

Hi, I've since realised this is a non-issue.
Out of interest how long did your GS last and how often/intense do you use it?

Hmmm. I dunno how long it lasted. Never had a problem with it. Used it quite a bit when I first had it... probably had it... ummm... 8 years or so? Didn't think I was going to juice anymore so, sold it. A few weeks later, went out and purchased a Samson.

Friends also had Green Stars. Never any problems that I heard of.
I'd contact Savant and ask for a replacement. Sounds as though you received a lemon.

I had a stereo like that once. Brought it back to the store 3 times. It blew up (smoke/fire... ) every time I tried to use it. Finally told them... give me another or you're not going to have customers today... I'll be outside that door telling folk about lousy customer service.

They gave me a new one. Same make/model ~ worked for YEARS with no problem.

On the internet, you can just tell them... send me a new one or, Facebook, Twitter and every forum I'm on will hear about you.

Be sure to take down the model/serial number so they don't send back the one you've got. If necessary contact the manufacturer and let them know the problem ~ although, Savant may just be willing to do the right thing, eh?

    Hi again.

    Here's the updates so far...

As you know the juicer has been returned to me "fixed" from Savant.
Well I've used it approximately 4-5 times since then, juicing around 4 litres per use, of apple/carrot juice.
The juicer is now bobbing wildly up and down and the pulp is soaking wet so basically the repair has failed.

I have just emailed Savant asking for either a replacment or a full refund.
Will let you all know what happens in due course.

    Update:

Sent faulty juicer to Savant nearly two weeks ago, explaining that I reject any further repair work and will only be willing to accept a brand new working replacment.

I have not heard back from them whatsoever, not even to confirm they recieved the juicer!

I'll let you all know what happens next.

That's a shame that you have to go through such a ridiculous amount of "work" to get satisfaction from a company. When I first bought my Omega 8006, I noticed the auger would bob up/down a lot, especially with harder produce. I contacted Omega and
they said that was normal. But after watching many videos on YouTube, others didn't seem to bob that much. It was as if the tolerances were too loose.

I returned the machine and bought a different one. This machine doesn't bob that much at all. Sometimes, a company will just tell you something to avoid having to take the machine back. Whatever you do keep pushing
    them.

    Good luck.

According to royal mail tracking facility they recieved the juicer 9am 30th august so it's been 9 days and not a single email from them!!!!!!!!
I'm now wondering if they even stock whole units of the GS juicer as their company information only states they hold "spare parts".

    CONCLUSION:

Savant Distribution have finally replaced the defective juicer with a brand new replacment, so I'm very happy. It has worked fine so far, I just hope it stays that way!
They said the delay was due to the person whom deals with GreenStar juicer repairs being on holiday for two weeks.
