Default Do you grow pea shoots?

Would you be willing to share the details or any links you know of?

I grow sunflower greens and really want to grow my own pea shoots because I love them from the HFS!

I have only found ONE stinking youtube vid that's worthless because it's this big, complex process for growing MASSIVE quantities. NOT useful for the little kitchen grower.

I do sunflower greens in pie plates in my window and I'm curious to know if peas would work the same way. Also have no idea what types of peas to get, etc. (I mean, with the exception of "organic" and dried.)

    Thanks!

I have some 12x12 trays that came with a plastic. I put about an inch of soil in and placed sunflower seeds on half, split the other half into two squares that I planted peas in one and buckwheat in the other. They are all coming up very nicely. I did soak the peas for about 6 hours and the same for the sunflower. I mist them daily. Should be several more days for a crop.

    Hope this helps.

I have 3 trays of pea shoots growing at the moment.
I bought the peas in the farmer's market with the intention of eating them but I think that they were too mature and not very nice so I decided to sprout them and plant them
I simply rinsed them about 3 times a day and as they sprouted I planted them in the trays. As a result the 3 trays are at different stages which is handy.
They did not all grow. Some went mouldy in the tray but a lot are growing.
I am not picking the shoots but pick the individual green leaves and just chew them.

Okay, cool. Sounds like it's as easy as sunflower greens. Now, off to find a source of peas...
