Thread: Sprouted quinoa

  1. #1

    Default Sprouted quinoa

l can drink a few glasses of green smoothies made from sprout juices or even drink a really large glass of weed juice (dandelion) and have no problems. But when l consume sprouted quinoa (3 - 4 tablespoons that has been sprouted) l feel really green and unwell and lose appetite for the rest of the day. l've been feeling green gilled for about 6 hours so far (same as last time). Anyone else get this strong cleansing reaction?

l don't have this problem with other grains like wheat, barley or oats (haven't tried sprouted millet as yet, but will give it a go in a few days).

lf it's putting me off my food maybe l should try eating alot less of it.

Same with me, and many others.

I well never eat sprouted quinoa again.

That stuff is just NOT food for human beings. I think anyone who purports to enjoy sprouted quinoa is not "listening" to their body.

I was just about to sprout some quinoa (as I love cooked quinoa). Now I am scared!

Personally I've never had that reaction. I do fine with it.

I have never greened it but just soaked and barely sprouted is fine for me. Try walnutty. It's very nice and a good alternative to cracked wheat and cous cous.

    I think it's the saponins.

    Yes, I will!

I love cooked, especially the organic red quinoa. I'll get some and sprout it.

    YOU MUST RINSE VERY WELL!

p.s. I don't do sprouted wheat...I have, but it made me really sick. And cous cous is just white flour pasta, isn't it?

Sprout for a short time. Rinse madly. Pat dry. Add dressing, herbs, veggies etc.
