Default How to Gain Muslce Mass?

I really enjoy juicing and drinking tea, but I am not trying lose any weight. I am 5'6 and weigh 120 lbs. I am wondering what protein powders are best and most natural to help me gain muscle mass when I exercise. Also, should I drink the protein powder before or after I exercise, or both?

Drink after exercise, but which protein powder -- I have no clue. I'd not drink protein powders but eat some high protein food. When trying to increase muscle mass it's much more important to have enough energy at all times (carbs), otherwise your muscles/protein you eat will be used as an energy source.

I have heard (I think that it was an interview with Brendan Brazier) that after exercise is the best time to drink green juice. Your body just soaks up the nutrients.

Sun Warrior gets rave reviews and is 100% raw. I use Vega Sport and Vega WFHO. I drink one scoop of Sport right before workout, one scoop during workout and one scoop of WFHO post workout. I also make sure i consume some or all of the following on a daily basis: hemp seed, cacao, chia seed, goji berries, avocados, sprouted beans etc. all of which are excellent amino/protein sources. I also consume large doses of greens and fruits of course. I've seen phenomenal results at lightening speed with this regiment.

Its fine that you have already adopted the routine of a regular exercise.I have not personally use any of the protein powders up till now because my diet is based on natural foods only but as per the market stats I advice you to use the Myotein.

Raw hemp powder. It's not the cheapest stuff in the world but it's an excellent souce of plant protein.

I like the Nutiva brand myself.

If your goal is gaining muscle, you need to be in calorie excess so you might put on a little bodyfat. Just make sure you are eating healthy foods and not loading up on junk food. If you still are gaining to much fat, cut out 150 calories a day. Keep track of your progress and keep adjusting your calories.

When I was still young I drink pure protein powder after doing my workout. I must agrgee with Dime, eating enough food(carbs, but not too much) may help you especially if you are trying to weight lifting. For now what I drink is a pure tulsi tea which I bought from http://organicindia.mercola.com/tulsi-tea.aspx is known as a good antioxidant. I'm using that because as a mother which stay at home taking care of my children and have no time to workout, I did gain a lot of weight. Fortunately, I maintained my current weight. So this are the things I can tell you now

I just went raw yesterday and am doing P90x. I have to do some more research, but I have seen a protein powder called Warrior Food. It is labeled as Raw and Vegan. I was going to just do spirulina in shakes before finding this. It is a little spendy, but most good protein powders are. I also have read that a good green juice is perfect for after workout recovery drink. I need to do more research, but for me so far that is what I am going to do, as well as snack on some almonds.

If your mission is to gain muscle you should perform stern workout and consume fresh juices and other healthy drinks with protein powder. Plus you should eat fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet as well. Surely you would see great results in future.
