Default No more fasting for me and HELP, what happened!

    Hi

I am hoping that someone will be able to help me. I am having a very big problem.

    Here is the story:
I started doing a juice fast last Sunday Oct. 2nd. I have done two other juice fasts without any problems. On Friday night after fasting for 5 days I got a very bad sharp pain in my back kidney area on the left side, this was accompanied by severe abdominal cramping and trouble breathing. My husband was looking in our nutritional healing book under my syptoms to make sure I didn't have a burst appendix or something. We don't have insurance so popping off the the hospital was not an option. Anyways the next day I saw my chiropractor and he said it appeared that I twisted my rib out of place, but couldn't figure out why I had such bad abdominal cramping. I felt naseaus and couldn't eat anything, the mere thought of eating made me sick. Normally I love avacadoes and can eat one every day without getting sick of them but the thought of eating an avacado made me want to puke (sorry!). The pain in my back and abdomen persisted all through Saturday and Sunday until finally Sunday night I was having constant pains that were so bad it felt like I was having contractions, I couldn't stand up and we went to the ER. (For us to do this with no insurance you know that the pain was really bad! and I have had 5 children the last 4 with no pain medication so I am not a wimp!) Anywyas the ER said it was a kidney stone gave me some morphine (which made me even more naseaus) and sent me home.

So now I am very confused. I would have thought that I would be at a very low risk of developing a kidney stone due to my eating habits. I have been vegan raw since May. Could the fast have triggered this because of the detoxing?

Also when I went back to see my chiropractor yesterday after going to the ER he said that he really doubted it was a kidney stone because of how I eat, then he said you usually get kidney stones when your body is very acidic and that I certainly wouldn't be acidic. Well he got his little test strip out to test my acidity it I was REALLY acidic!!! I mean I was as acidic as I could be! And my husband, who doesn't eat healthy, was in the normal range and not acidic at all! What is going on???!!

I am still nauseated (and no I am not pregnant I have had 3 test now and all have been negative) and the thought of eating any raw food makes me sick!

Please if anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it! I don't know what to think and what to do! I still don't know what is really wrong with me either.
Sorry this is so long. I need help!
    Thank you!

My first thought when reading your symptoms was a stone of some kind. My thinking is that your kidneys are releasing the acid and your body isn't. That stone wasn't created in a day ~ or the past 4-5 months. It's probably been there awhile.

My suggestion, stop fasting and eat some health-building foods such as greens or green smoothies and if you can't stomach that, then water for a day or so until your body feels to eat again. You also might do some watermelon juice if you can handle that at this time.

    Default kidney cleanse

I'm no expert by any means, but my first thought is that the fasting caused you to detox kidney stones. As Revvell said, the stones could have been there for awhile. I am over two years high raw and I still have detox "episodes", most recently gallbladder/liver stones released after a liver cleanse. You might want to consider a kidney cleanse with herbal teas. Search on curezone.com for more info.

As far as testing high acidic, this is probably because you were fasting and your body is detoxing and not at it's normal state of equilibrium. I notice when I fast, my pink tongue becomes coated as the detox occurs. Test your pH again in a couple of weeks and I bet you will be more alkaline.
    Good luck!

I believe that when you fast, your body goes into the mode of releasing things from your fatty tissues in to your blood stream etc. What may have happened is that it realeased too much, too quickly and your kidneys couldn't keep up. You have probably been cleansing since you started raw and as others have said, the kidney stone build up over time. When you did the fast, the kidneys wanted to expel the excess calcium and couldn't. I am not sure about this, maybe someone else knows, but would eating some cranberries be helpful right about now? They are in season.

Thank you all for posting back to me. I really appreciate it. I am still having a lot of back pain in my kidney area and feeling sick to my stomach, but the cramping in my abdomen is gone so I am glad for that. One good thing is that I do feel like eating. I feel bloated though but food does sound appealing again so that is good.
I will keep you all posted. Once again thanks so much for responding to me.
