    Default Arthritis gone

Well, I am very very excited!! I went raw because I saw my body going on a downhill spiral--starting with kidney stones, cysts and then arthritis. It was in my knees--at 53 that made me very unhappy. I was having problems getting up and down--even in smiple places like the couch! I've been raw since Aug.(was vegan since March). I wasn't seeing results from being vegan. I'm learning much about being raw! I've added green smoothies to my diet even. I've gone from gourmet raw to simple with some gourmet here and there. I veered once(mildly) but didn't even enjoy it. I looked at a tangerine the other day and got excited about eating it. I have both of Alissa's recipe books and DVD.

NOW-- my knees are totally normal. No more arthrtis! My boys(dogs) love that I can get on the floor again.

    I AM SO EXCITED!!!!

Thanks for posting your encouraging words, blizzardfrisbee!

But jus curious about what else you've done...like have you eliminated nightshades or any solanine-containing things like strawberries, blueberries etc?

    Thanks again,

Blizzardfrisbee, your story sounds a lot like mine, except that I'm only 35 and my arthritis started when I was 10 years old.

I've been vegan most of my adult life, and veg pretty much all of it. I have(had?) arthritis in both hips and one knee, and the last 10 years or more I think I've had it in my fingers.

Going veg helped a little, going vegan helped a bit more, but going all raw helped MASSIVELY!!! I have had pretty much no problems since going all raw, only very occasionally a round red patch on my knee joint that's a little warmer than every where else, but the pain is gone and the flexibility is outta this world! I had no idea my flexibility had been so compromised until I went all raw and got it back and then some!

Raw DEFINITELY helps with arthritis, I've heard so many stories and experienced it myself.

BTW, I eat LOTS of nightshades (mainly tomatoes) and do eat strawberries and blueberries (punnets at a time).

My story is different because I was two years raw before I developed arthritis in my hands.
I find that supplementing with Glucosaminr and Astaxanthin keeps the discomfort under control but I tried to stop taking them and within a week it came back.
I take very little nightshades and do not like strawberries but take some blueberries.
I am planning a long fast in the spring as I have been told that that will fix it so here's hoping.

Thank you both for the good wishes and I will keep you informed. I am planning a fast in late spring or early summer as ai think that is the best time of the year for it. Hopefully that will do the trick.
In the meantime I will try to give up the supplements again in the meantime to see if my diet has helped.
