    Default Green Smoothie question

I'm curious --you people that drink green smoothies have one glass a day or more than that? What will give me the maximum benefit? I have started to have green smoothies everyday for the last 2 weeks. (have to get a Vita Mix-- my spinach smoothie comes out great but others greens like kale comes out on the chewy side) Do you drink them for breakfast or other times in the day?

I make 2 quarts or more of Green Smoothie and drink it for breakfast and/or AM snack.

Make sure you rip/cut up the greens into small pieces before adding to your blender until you can get a better high-speed blender like a Vitamix or BlenTek.

I tend to start my day with a melon and then have the smoothie for elevenses. I think that this is because I do my five Tibetan Rites before I eat anything so I am too hungry to wait for my smoothie and the melon is instant gratification.
I have a blender full of fairly thick smoothie.

I was drinking one greeen smoothie a day for about 2 years. then Ihad eye surgery in august, 2010. Wanting to give myself the most assist in healing, I adopted a regime of 2 qts./day of green smoothie and a qt. of fresh vegetable juice. I did get some very good results by the 2 month post surgery mark, so I think my body was prety happy about the whole arrangement. It has now been 3 1/2 months and I havent' changed anythng, except added other things in around the edges---rae, living foods to chew. I think that after Christmas I might go back to just 1 smoothie (qt.) a day, and eat some big salads for lunch like I used to. We'll see.

    Default green smoothies

The smoothie I make every morning is spinach, kale, collards, strawberries, banana, berries, green powder (from Vit World) and water. I use a ninja food processor and it comes out sort of chewy but I like it. Makes about a quart that I finish before work. Does this sound right to all you smoothie drinkers? I've just started trying to do all raw. I feel great, go to Curves to exercise and am 61 yrs. old. I'm a waitress and am on my feet running all day at work. I try to do all raw but it's hard at work. I'll take any and all suggestions as I love to read these forums everyday. Thanks.

Wish you the best Rena...Welcome to RFT!

I have worked myself into a routine. I eat fruit first then drink two cups green smoothie (just greens and fruit). My next smoothie is a heavy one with nut milk, fruit, superfoods and about a cup of greens. I wonder if I am getting enough but this is what I do for now. I may revamp at some point to get more greens.

How many greens does a raw foodie need? That is the question.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop?...The world may never know. (laughing to self) Sorry I couldn't resist.
