I got some Chanterelle Mushrooms yesterday and mixed it with my Butternut ravioli and spinach with curry sauce leftovers. I put it in the dehydrator to melt the oil. GOOD GOD, this was so divine!!! That vanilla infused coconut/olive oil is just ridiculous. I want to have that on hand at all times. If only Chanterelles were around on a regular basis. I have to say this book takes raw foods to the next level. I wish I lived near Grezzo.... unreal. THANK YOU Alissa!!!

OOOHHH MY GOODNESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys, I am in TOTAL HEAVEN right now!!!!!!
Check this out: Alissa's RAW Granola from RFFE

I remember tasting this at Grezzo... Alissa gave me 2 containers of it the first time I went and I bought 3 or 4 of them the 2nd time I went!!!!! Now, I can't BELIEVE I actually made it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I tell you this is INCREDIBLE believe me, it's INCREDIBLE!!!! The one on the left is without the Pecans because my son is allergic to nuts. I can't WAIT till the morning and have this with some fresh Almond Milk! YUMMY!!!
I also made the Star Anise Papaya Steak:

I remember smelling the Star Anise for the first time at Grezzo! I absolutely LOVE this smell!!!!! It just makes me SMILE!!! It's in the Big "D" right now!!! Gotta remember to pour on the juice every 30 minutes... Everytime I look at it, it changes! It is really lovin' the marinade!
These are two of the EASIEST recipes to put together! You guys HAVE to try these!!!!!
Here's what I'll be making this week:
* Wild Mushroom Fettuccini
* Butternut Squash Ravioli
* Tomato Ravioli
* Jambalaya
* Sausage & Onion Pizza
I'll also be making some other easy recipes along the way! I'm SO excited!!! This is SOOOOO much fun!!!
Thank you SO much Alissa for sharing your wonderful Grezzo recipes with us!!!!

I had some leftover sweet potato and grapefruit soup from last night this morning with some left over curry sauce (with the excess salt I put in). I put some sprouted quinoa and red lentils with the basil as a garnish. This made such a great soup. Like a spicy pumpkin soup. I warmed the bowl so it was a comfort food.... I loved it.

Wasn't it just DEVINE!!!!! I warmed my bowl too!!! My kids had me make theirs w/o the Jalapeno, but when I added it to mine it was MUCH better and they liked it more with it. I noticed the Jalapeno cut some of what I expected to be bitterness from the soup! It was REALLY good!

Hi everyone!!!
We began the day with the DELICIOUS Granola Cerael with Almond Milk:

Then, my Mother and Grandmother joined us for a DELICIOUSLY RAW LUNCH!!! They LOVED everything they tried! Here's what I made:
Tomato Ravioli, RFFE, page 365:

I just had Basil, so that's what I used.... YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is SOOOO BEYOND FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So Tastey!!! I especially LOVE the GARLIC/EVOO Blend under the Tomato! This is SO GREAT! You guys just HAVE to try this one!!! It took about 1 1/2 minutes to make and it's DELICIOUS!!!
Star Anise Papaya Steak with Salad, RFFE, page 358:

This was even better than last night!!! I just LOVE how all of the flavors just MELT the Papaya in your mouth!
When you eat it, close your eyes and let the flavors take you beyond where no meat lover has gone before!!!! :-D
I also made: Coconut Chocolate Pudding, Pina Coladas, and samples of Onion Bread and Alissa's Pizza Bread.
When I let my Mom taste Alissa's Sausage, I didn't tell her what it was, I just said, "Taste this and tell me what you think it is..." She tasted it....let the flavors mingle in her mouth and said, "This tastes just like SAUSAGE..." YEAAAA!!!!!!!!!! How cool was THAT!!!
What a GREAT day!!! :-D

omg - papaya steak in my future!
WOW reneeH - you really were divine in presenting these pics -- why -- because at the exact hour these pics were posted, I was cutting and scraping out a papaya and wondering -- how the heck am I going to cold smoke this in 36 degree weather -- i really dont want to do this outdoors!!!
Man that looks soooo awesome ! I have everything - I did freeze the papaya though because I was scared it would go bad and I paid good money for that non-local tropical fruit, lol!
How can I make this indoors - i see you have a dehydrator going and basting every thirty minutes -- i need to know -- i am really wanting some salmon and I made an amazing marinated portobello in its place. Hubby TOLD me i had to take a picture of the mushroom - coming soon!
Meanwhile I just bought some new cool glass storage containers to clear out my fridge and make new fresh dishes!
blessings! Keep rawking people!

Late on this thread, but as usual, Renee, you're doing a great job of relaying your daily info and photos. ALL of this stuff looks awesome! Getting an idea of what I want for Christmas...

Renee, you are so WOW! I really wasn't going to try the papaya steak...but now after seeing your pictures and feeling your enthusiasm, I am so all about it! Thank you so much for everything that you are!!!

Those look so good! The Tomato Ravioli is ON for next week. I also love the looks of the Hawaiian Pizza. Today I had left over Papaya Pappardelle on Italian bread wrap with some extra white sauce from the recipe and some tomatoes. What an amazing lunch. Love how the leftovers are sometimes even better then the first go. The Papaya dish was a little disappointing because I didn't get a lot of Papaya from my fruit which made the dish more of a green bean dish, but in the sandwich this morning it was incredible, and I know next time to get a bigger papaya. The white sauce from the recipe is really good as a sandwich spread. It has mustard seed and shallots which makes it a little spicy. Yum.

WOW! Is all I can say! I have been raw for almost two weeks, 100%, I have been going back and forth with raw and cooked for a while. But after seeing all of your pics I am so excited to try some! I am getting a dehydrator for Christmas, I am trying to talk my husband into letting me get it before then. I am definitly going to purchase Alissa's new book, I have her first one! Can I ask you a question Renne, how long do the foods stay for leftovers? I made Alissa's blueberry cheesecake on Sunday, and I still am eating it today, and it seemed fine to me, but I was wondering what a good amount of time is. I will continue to follow along. Thanks!

Hi Tryingtogoraw!!!
2 weeks Raw is AMAZING!!! Congratulations!!!!!
Really, it depends on what you've made. Something like the Blueberry Cheesecake or the Sweet Potato Pie I have eaten even up to 5 days later. If I wanted to eat it after that, I would definitely freeze it.
Now, something like Almond Milk has a high turnover in my house!!! So, I make it every 2 days or so. I wouldn't drink it after 3 days myself...but then again, I have been known to pour it into IceTrays and freeze it too!!! :) Alissa's Chili--I have eaten that 5 days later and it was fine.
Now, the Lasagne...I don't like mine after the 2nd day. If you have something like Zucchini Pasta with Marinara Sauce, the Noodles I put in a ziploc baggie and keep for 2 days. But, I dry them out first on the counter before I put them in the frig. If you put them straight away then they kinda turn to mush on you. So dry them for a few hours, room temp first. The sauce is good for a couple of days. I usually don't want it after that.
Another thing you can do is make 1/2 of any recipe to reduce some of the leftovers...especially if you're making Alissa's Chili--although I HAVE been known to eat the ENTIRE BATCH MYSELF!!!!!!!!! (I *KNOW*, right!!! ) That way, you can make it fresh again when you want it.
You kinda have to smell/taste it to judge it for yourself. Most Raw and Living Dishes using fresh, Raw ingredients isn't meant to last 2 weeks in the fridge, IMO... Fresh is ALWAYS better. But, I know that most of Alissa's meals in LOLF are HUGE, so you're gonna have leftovers.

Hey everyone!!!
I have to make the Saffron Sauce tonight for the Fettuccini to eat tomorrow. I have the Candied Pecans in the Big "D" right now too, so that I can make the Butternut Squash Ravioli also... The wild Rice is soaking now, for the Jambalaya (I am SO excited about this one!!!!!)
So, today I need to make something that does not require dehydration....so, I decided to go with Zucchini Pasta with Marinara Sauce, which I have made dozens of times and can whip it up in a jiffy...
Can't *wait* till tomorrow!!!!
