    Default Detox

It's been exactly 2 monrths raw--I'm feeling blah today--achy, slight headache and a slight temperature. Is this all normal??? Would this be detox or could I possiblily be getting sick??

Hi Blizzard. Congrats on your 2 months raw! I think your symptoms could be either detox or results of a bug. Just rest, drink lots of fluids and maybe eat light until this passes. Thats what I would do.

I find that in cold and flu season I might get slight symptoms of what is going around but never full blown illness. I love that side effect of being raw.

Thanks--that is what I'm doing today. Just laying low--being a couch potato.

Sickness really is just detox... our bodies are getting rid of something whether it be a virus or a toxin of any kind.

I hope you can enjoy some rest and some juice. :)

    Default Detox

Hi This is David from a cold, rainy London,

About two weeks ago, I made the decision to get into a raw/vegan lifestyle and have been essentially living on vegetable and fruit juices(all freshly made at home), including raw fruit and veg and the odd "treat" now and then just to keep me sane.

Without being too graphic, since I began eating raw food, I have literally lived in the toilet and whilst I can do this for a few weeks, I can see it becoming a real challenge.

I have been sensible with the detox, ie I would say that I have been 75%-80% raw for two weeks as opposed to steaming in 100% raw, but different people have advised different things with regard to the frequent toilet visits.

Some say that it is a good thing in that I am getting rid of all the toxicity in my body and eventually my body will adjust and get used to it, but isnt it the case that eating fruit and veg simply makes you frequently go to the toilet whether you are raw or not ?

In other words, arent greens supposed to make us go ?

How long should it realistically be before my body settles down ?

    Thanks for your help

    David

I just went through this for the past two days so last night I went and had a colonic and accupunture done. I feel great today. I had flu symptoms and felt horrible for two days, no food either, sick to stomach and headache. I don't typically get colds or the flu. So I was detoxing. Good luck! Drink lots of water and Celtic sea salt!
