    Smile Sweet potato chips

Soooooooooooo-- I am so new at this dehydrating--getting the hang of it-but seems I have to make something--it doesn't come out just right and make it again! My chips are kind of rubbery and not crispy. I did leave them in longer than I should have--does that matter??? Maybe chewy is a better word. Should they be chewy? I'm use to the --you know-- SAD type of very crispy crunchy chips. :)

looking forward to comments...I'm dealing with the same thing. I think I my over dehydrated bc I'm worried it'll be under done & go bad. We have very high humidity here & my house is very old.

Maybe your slicing your chips too thick. I cut mine quite thin and they are crispy but they're a different kind of crispy than fried. They shouldn't be rubbery or chewy. Good Luck.

Aww maybe that is the problem! I used a mandoline but maybe the setting was too high.
