    Default Marinades???

    Hi All,

I have heard people lately saying that they do a lot of marinating. I would love to start doing this with some of my veggies. I was hoping that some of you would be generous enough to share some of you marinade recipes so that I could give them a try. Do you all just use regular seasonings or what? Is the base mostly oil or vinegar. I am totally lost on this one. Thanks for all of your info in advance!

p.s. I forgot to ask ................. how long do you usually marinate for? I would think overnight but I could definitely be wrong! Thanks again, rawjojo.

Hey rawjojo - here's the recipe I am completely addicted to for marinating kale:

    2 Tbsp olive oil
    1 Tbsp flax seed oil
2 Tbsp nama shoyu (I'm not completely sure this is raw ... Bragg's liquid aminos would probably work just as well, but I've never tried that.)
Grated ginger root or powdered ginger root to taste.

Then I squish the kale all up into the marinade with my hands and then let it sit overnight usually, or at least for a few hours. I seriously eat this like four times a week.

I also used Olive's idea for making a cabbage/carrot slaw and marinating it in Alissa's French Dressing recipe. I am having that for lunch today. Haven't tried it yet, but it smells divine.

    Thanks qetta
I appreciate it. I only juice or use kale on salads so I am looking forward to trying this and having another way to get my greens!
