    Default Carrot Juice Issues

    Hi all.

I've been juicing carrots for years but in the last 6 months I increased my daily dosage from one 8oz glass a day to a 14oz glass. I love it and don't want to change however my hands are now yellow. It's more like my palms and on the top of the hands the knuckles forward are yellow, for some reason the portion of the fingers between the knuckle and joint are not.

How much carrot juice can you drink without having any discoloring issues?

If I do need to drop back to one 8oz glass a day or every other day, is there another good juice I can supplement with?

This situation sucks- I love it so much but don't want any more questions on why my hands are yellow.

That seems to be a question for you. How much can YOU drink w/out having any discoloring issues?

There are HUNDREDS of books out on juicing as well as on juice combinations. I'd recommend one by Norman Walker. He can answer your questions.

You say "supplement" with. Not sure what you mean.... green juice? apple juice?

Maybe consider adding greens like leafy veggies, celery or a green supplement to see if that helps. Wait till your hands are normal & then give it a few days. Otherwise just combine it with 1 or more other foods like cucumber, celery, apples, etc.

I have the same thing happen when I drink a lot of carrot juice. Just cut back on the amount and it will go away. I've taken to adding a lot of other things to my carrot juice ... turning it into almost a v8 type drink. (I add tomatoes, celery, apple, sweet pepper, onion, zucchini, spinach ... whatever veggie I happen to have at the time)

But I still like straight carrot juice now and again. I'm just careful not to drink too much.
    Cheers
    Terry

Well, carrot is a pretty overbearing flavor, maybe you could add some mild-tasting fruits or veggies for bulk, so that you still have the same amount of juice, but less carrot (and more variety).

I don't know if this is good food combining, but I've always loved the flavor of carrot and orange juice together. Kind of a sugar bomb, though.
