weight loss and green smoothies?
Hi! I was just wondering who has lost weight on raw foods and green smoothies. I'd like allll the information you could give- what you ate, how many green smoothies a day, how much fruit/vegetables (proportionately), how much weight you lost in how long.....

I lost weight unintentionally when I went raw. I didn't weigh myself beforehand, but I think it was about 10-15 pounds, and that was starting out at a normal weight. I probably have three to four green smoothies a week (depending on how active I am), and I just follow my cravings. Some days I might eat all dates and nuts and ice cream, some days I might have all salad. Depends on what my body tells me.

In the almost 6 weeks I've been raw, I've lost 20 pounds and gone down 3 jeans sizes. I drink a green smoothie every morning, and occasionally have a second one sometime during the day, but generally I just have them for breakfast and then have salads or something like zucchini noodles with marinara or raw tacos for my other meals. My snacks are generally fresh fruit, fresh veggies, or pumpkin seeds.

Here's one thread you may want to check out.....Doug's weight loss was really amazing. Also, be sure to check out his photos.http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthrea...e+fast&page=18
There was another woman who documented her smoothie fast back in 2007/8, but for the life of me, I can't remember her name Anyone else recall her name?

Thanks a lot!!
I love how on this way of living you can eat what you crave (including delicious raw desserts...) and not feel guilty about it afterwards. lol

There is an old thread here somewhere that I read part of a while back, about someone who lost a few hundred? pounds drinking green smoothies. I don't know his forum name, but someone else might know who it was so you can search for it.

Philip McCluskey, perhaps?

No not Philip, although that's awesome too - this guy: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthrea...light=lemonade
Sorry, it took me quite a while to find it, as I couldn't remember his name. Do a search for "lemonade" and then TRY to find a topic started by someone whose name you don't know based on the 20 pages of results...LOL

I think that may be Doug but not sure.
On Rawkin' Radio I interviewed Philip who eliminated 200 pounds in 2 years just eating raw and Clent Manich who eliminated about 200 pounds in 1 year on smoozies.

I think your diet plan is way too perfect. Trying out natural methods should be given top priority for weight loss; supplements should be the last resort, if none of the diet plan works. But my opinion for you is to follow the same diet plan as you seeing tremendous results you should stick to the same diet plan.

I have been drinking Green Smoothies everyday for the past 15 days; and I lost about 15 pounds; and this was still while eating mostly raw foods. I now plan on going on a 30 day Green Smoothie Fast in order to really prepare myself for 100% raw!

I have 100% raw for quite awhile. I never didn't loose much weight untill I started doing green smoothies for breakfast. My energy level is unbelieveable. In fact I am only sleeping 3-4 hours a night. I also have lost 3 pounds this week. I think it is from the extra enery and especially the green smoothies with the fiber.
