    Nori Rolls

The “rice” in these rolls is actually made of cauliflower…it looks and tastes like real sticky rice for an authentic Japanese flare!

    4 Nori sheets
    1/2 head cauliflower
    1 avocado, thinly sliced
Any of the following veggies: shredded carrot, cucumber sticks, mung beans, etc.

    1. In a food processor, grind the cauliflower until grainy.
    2. Remove cauliflower mixture from food processor and place a thin layer of it on a nori sheet. Do not put cauliflower on the top few inches of the sheet.
    3. Put slices of avocado and other veggies in the center of the sheet.
    4. Roll the nori sheet, pulling tight as you roll up, and seal with a few drops of water along the seam.
    5. With a sharp knife, cut nori roll into inch-thick slices and turn face up on a plate side by side.
    6. Continue this process with the remaining sheets.

Serving suggestions: Place Bragg liquid aminos or Nama Shoyu in a small bowl to use as a dipping sauce.

Alissa's nori roll sounds like the quickest and nut free one I have heard of. I know I can get my fats from the avo., I have the cauliflower and the "raw" (vs. toasted which is cooked) nori sheets, so maybe it's a second attempt once I buy the nori. I would probably make it without the dipping action or try something else as I don't like stuff too salty. Any suggestions on another dip??????? If not, I will just skip the dip and eat away!

    Thanks for sharing Alissa.

    Hi,

can somebody tell me which Nori is the toasted version? Is it the green of the black nori that I should buy if I want the raw version?
Also, what does it taste like? Fish? Salt? The ocean??

    thanks!

    LOL Glad!
Maybe, just maybe... but not as a facial, haha, but to make some nori rolls, if somebody can convince me that they don't taste like fish or the ocean... :)

My one experience with nori was that it tasted fishy. But maybe I just tried the wrong kind?? I still haven't been brave enough to try the wakame that I bought.

Hi all! I have tried Alissa's Nori rolls, and they were great! My only problem was that the cauliflower was a little loose- the whole thing didn't stick very well, but they tasted awesome! As for the Nori taste, I would say it is more of a salty taste with a bit of fishy flavor. I dipped mine in wasabi and braggs kinda of like the traditional way to eat sushi. It was great- If you are having a hard time with the Nori taste, try making a nori roll sandwich. In fact, I just made these today and I have posted a picture on the site. Just take a sheet of nori and place it on the table like a diamond. Fill that baby up with lettuce, cucumber sticks, red bellpepper, and everything else you like- I put some jalapenos and spicy hummus in mine as well. After it is full, fold the bottom corner up, and then tightly roll it like a burrito. The taste of the nori sorta fades away with everything else in the sandwich, so your tastebuds can adjust to it a little better. I always use the toasted Nori- I haven't tried the raw version yet, mainly because I can't find it. Hope this helps...

    Default Wakame!

It's yummy. I soaked it then rolled it up burrito style with avo. Be careful to pull it apart though. Some of the leaves were stuck together. Those bits were very very chewy.
