    Question Storing Juice...

Can anyone offer some guidance on storing fresh juice?

I love fresh juice of all kinds. BUT I'm lazy as well... hmmmm....

Rather than having to juice one serving at a time and use immediately, I'd rather take a bit of time and do up several batches at once. My only question is how long will it keep in the fridge without losing all the good for you type stuff.

I currently use a centrifugal juicer but have ordered a 'press' type. I've heard that the centrifugal needs to be used pretty well immediately 'cause there is oxidization that goes on during the juicing process, but the 'press' types don't cause the oxidization and can be kept a bit longer in the fridge (up to 3 days?)

    Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, experiences?

Things I have read are to use some lemon juice to prevent further oxidation from the juicing process. Also, use an air tight container and fill it to the tippy top so that there is no air space between the lid and top of the juice. Other than that...not really sure how long it takes for the juice to start really degrading.

depends on the juicer as to how quick ... but ...

you can freeze your juices. it's not as good as fresh but it's still really good. ;)

    Smile Thanks ....

Thanks for the suggestions. A few days ago came across a vacuum sealer and kinda tossed around the idea of getting it. The make is NutriVac - indicates it will help keep juices 3 days without losing ANY nutrients.

Comes with 10oz, 16oz and 56oz jars; hand operated; 1 yr warranty. Best part? Needs NO electricity.

Decision made. Gonna get it. Price? $60 (Cdn).

This, combined with freezing, will really help avoid daily juicing.

    Thanks again guys!
