Default My first time sprouting lentils....

And they turned into little plants :P. They had green buds on the ends of the sprout. I threw them out, but would they still have been OK to eat? Did I let them sprout too long?

These are awesome to eat. It appears they went a lil longer but that only mkaes them microgreens, one stage past sprouts! Thats the way a plant goes.heehee...anyway eat em up as they are delish! (well next time)

I love lentil sprouts the best! Radish are a close second!.

    Default Lentil Sprouts

Is it OK to just used dried lentils in the organic bulk section for sprouting? Or do you have to buy the seed packs? I'm about to embark on my first sprouting attempt and I bout lentils from bulk, but I was told I need seeds. Is that true?

    Thank you,
    Jouslynn

Hi Jouslynn ~ What you bought in the bulk section is exactly what you want for sprouting lentils. I've not heard of sprouting "lentil seeds". Interesting though!

Sprout what you bought and enjoy! *Ü*

The dried lentils in the bulk section are the seeds. The only reason to buy the (usually more expensive) seed packs sold expressly for sprouting is if a large percentage of the lentils you bought from the bulk bin aren't germinating.
