Default How are you supposed to eat potatoes?

I love sweet potatoes and regular potatoes and I see them sometimes in raw recipes but I'm not quite sure how you're supposed to be using them. Are you meant to eat them raw as in, completely hard and crunchy (because ew!) or are you meant to soak them overnight in cool water to soften them?

Because I really don't get it lol. Help pleaaaase? x)

I'll be interested in responses to this. One dish I've been making is a raw sweet potato souffle in the Blendtec. Sorry I don't have a recipe, I just wing it. lol Now I have to remember how to make it! My dh and ds do like it.

i eat sweet potato raw without soaking them. I peel them them pop them in the food processor and whizz round and then i like to add oil and herbs and spice to them. They usually taste better the next day as the flavours marinate together.

i also make dehydrated crisps out of them too.

I do feel that potatoes are not food for humans and if they are not meant for us then they will not do us any good. We should eat sympathetic foods.

    LOL

When I was young, I had friends who would eat potatoes raw. Never appealed to me.

If you see them in recipes, read the directions. They'll tell you what to do with them.

When we were kids, we "would eat" raw potatoes to raise our body temp, because it did, thus look like we had a fever..no school..bad, yeah maybe, but hey it worked.
I was always told not to eat raw potatoes, it simply isn't good for you..
I do eat sweet potatoes raw, one of my favorite ways is shredded sweet potato in one pile on your plate, shredded beet in another pile on your plate..now drizzle raw homemeade pesto on top and eat..so good, so simple.
