Default Any significant truth to the blood type diet?

I'm inclined to be sceptical about 'fad diets', but I had a bit of a nasty reaction the other day after a big banana/greens smoothie (one of my staples! ) - got a burning sensation in my throat - and started doing some Googling to see if I could find any possible causes. I came across some stuff on the blood type diet that told me, as a Type A, I shouldn't be eating bananas. Or tomatoes. Or papayas, mangoes, coconuts, and a ton of other fruits and veggies I love! But... it also said that tofu should be one of the staples of my diet... totally against all this research about how bad soy is! So at first I was appalled, and now I am just confused Does anyone think there is anything to this diet, or that there is any reason to give up those foods? I'm not sure I could stay as raw as I am without them!

    Thanks in advance :)

I'm a type A as well and I can't imagine giving those up. Although I did test mildly allergic to bananas - I still eat them. *Ü*

You can read a few opinions on that here.

I think there is some truth to the blood type diet. Those with the same blood time share something similar in their dna. There has to be something to it. I even think that you can incorporate a blood type raw food diet. Just because it is raw, doesn't mean it is good for everyone. Some people are allergic to certain raw fruits and veggies. I don't think it is coincidence that you and DebB share the same blood and and it said you should avoid bananas and DebB tested slightly allergic. I am sure there is some truth to it.

I threw out all my "diet" books (including the blood type diet) when I went raw. Prefer to use my body as my guide.
