    Default Green Smoothie vs Juicing

What's the benefit to veggie juicing over just making a green smoothie? I don't have a juicer, I just make green smoothies every morning. They are mostly greens with very little fruit.

Well, this is just my opinion, so it's worth what you paid for it Raw... :)

I would say it depends on how you're making the smoothies. If you're blending them at high speed, then I would say there is most likely additional heat and oxidation being added, which reduces the quality of the enzymes in the resultant juice.

This is one of the reasons many of us prefer low-speed, masticating juicers, as opposed to centrifugal style units that operate anywhere from 5500 - 13,000 rpm.

I'm sure the smoothie you're making still has some nutritional value, but maybe not as much as you might expect. It beats drinking cola, coffee, or energy drinks.

BTW - This is my first post here. Thanks for having me on the forum.

None, instead you may want to ask what are the benefits of smoothies (whole foods) over juice (separated food component missing some of it's nutritional co-factors)??

My observation is there isn't much heat generated when I blend. A terrific way around this issue is by chilling items to blended in your refrigerator.
I chose the road less traveled and it has made all the difference...
Those who say it cannot be done shouldn’t interrupt the person doing it.
