Quantum Eating
Has anyone heard of this book? Any thoughts on it?

I haven't read it but know about it. I agree that we should be eating much less the longer we're raw and it's good to stop eating early. However, everyone has different needs that depend on someone's lifestyle, health, etc.

Haven't come across the title until now, it's good not to eat at night, but not all of us are in a position to do that.
I chose the road less traveled and it has made all the difference...
Those who say it cannot be done shouldn’t interrupt the person doing it.

I wonder how someone could only eat in the morning to early afternoon and not slowly starve.

Easy, eat larger servings. BTW, when you raw, you also don't require as many calories as before as your body is much more efficient absorbing both energy and nutrients.

First, I don't buy into her theory of eating all your food between 7:00am and 3:00pm, or that you shouldn't eat or drink for 6 hours before bedtime.
Second, it is not enough food.
Third, dry fasting? That is just plain wrong.
To me, being a raw foodist is about freedom of choice and freedom from structure, eating and drinking when hungry and thirsty. Eating the way she describes seems like a very strict, unhealthy diet.
When or if I ever reach the "next level" of "advanced" rawness, maybe I will think differently about it, but for now, no thank you.

There is considerable evidence that one shouldn't eat too close to sleeping, personally my dreams are more pleasant when I don't. (Z sleeping smiley ZZ here)

Depends, one size doesn't fit ALL. I have eaten one large meal a day (lots of coconut cream and nut desserts) on consecutive days and didn't get hungry at all for at least 24 hours.

WHAT!?? I didn't know the book advocates dry fasting, THAT is just plain wrong! So now you HAVE my permission to toss it in the trash. (garbage can smiley here)

I have to confess I didn't read the entire book. Only skimmed through it enough to know it was not for me.
If I had green juice for breakfast, fruit for lunch, and green smoothie for dinner, no doubt I would lose a lot of weight. Hmmmmm.... I might have to think about that.
I think she dry fasts everyday from 2:00pm until the next morning. Maybe I shouldn't speak against it without trying it, but I can't see myself doing it.

if you dry fast every day like that... you really need to drink a lot more fluids than just juice for breakfast and a smoothie for dinner (in my opinion)...

I have friends who have been raw for extended time and start to go for this, because they are looking for the next step. (One has been raw for 10 years or so, the others about 5 and 7 years, I think.)
It doesn't really seem to be like a good idea until a person has had a good handle on raw food for a few years... buuuut it does seem to make perfect sense to not eat late at night. And to get to bed early.
I thought it was written in a compelling way even though I felt the material was extreme for me, where I am. I don't know that I'll ever be there, either. But ya never know!

Fasting without liquids, I do find it rather extreme! Though now I might just read it now my interest is piqued.
Hey RawKnitster, DON'T through away that book yet, send it to me.
