    Default March 4th - Day 4

This is High Raw Day 20 for me...

I have been summoned for an emergency pick up of 5-7 dogs in Phoenix Arizona, I have been super busy getting stuff organized. I never called the Airline to see just what snacks I can have aboard, although I did make a thread of that when I first joined here, so I will check it.

I don't quite know what I will be eating. I have a contact down there, whom I've never met that I may or may not be staying with. I am going to wing it! Wish me Luck, I will need TONS! :)

    Breakfast Smoothie: 6 Cups of Spinach + 1/2 Cup of Kale + 2 Bananas Frozen + 2 Kiwi’s + 1/2 Asian Pear + 1 Cup of Water + 1 1/2 Cups of Papaya + 1 Cup of Ice

The rest of my day, couldn't get my hands on anything more: I am pooped!

    3 Banana’s, 1 Peach, 4 Lrg Strawberries, 4 Large Carrots, 4 Celery Stalks

P.S. I had planned on making a Nut Banana Loaf & Nut Butter, but will try it out Saturday when I am back home & calm. Oh & the Goji's were really Sweet & not a bad flavor!!

    Good Luck!!! :)

    Yesterday consisted of the following,

    Breakfast -
Smoothie: kale, green leaf lettuce, orange, banana, frozen mango, maca, ground flax seed, and a scoop of "green" supplement

    Lunch -
DELICIOUS Spinach Dip: avocado, spinach, curry & salt in the FP; scooped and eaten with carrots

    Snack - 3 dates

    Dinner - orange

Also took Blue Green Algae supplement for the first time yesterday.

Wasn't hungry much. I think I'm getting plenty of nutrients, so my body isn't expressing much desire for additional food.

Happy Day to everyone. Keep it raw!

I hope your mysterious Arizona mission goes smoothly Rawn =)

Joya, I also completely love that spinach dip. I'll have to get some spinach today..

    Here's yesterday--
B-banana cashew ice cream w/ coconut oil
    honeycrisp apple
few bites of the kale that wouldn't fit in the dehydrator
    blackberry or 2 (dd lunch)
kale chips (have you tried these yet they are so wonderful)
big mixed green salad w/maple ginger dressing
    avacado

    Today--
making corn chips/taco shells (never done it, seems intimidating, think its because I have a big tortilla chip issue)
    make a chocolate cheesecake
    beet and apple "magenta salad"
    _______________________________
    guacamole-corn chips ( I hope)
    green smoothie
    magenta salad
    cheesecake
    fruit

I also need to sit down and plan the cooked tings I have to make for my family. My kids eat about half or more raw, just because they love fruit and veggies and ice cream. But, I still have to plan for them, and especially my oh so picky junk fooding husband. He works a variable schedule, so I can't plan for him on any particular night, so I try to have the ing for several meals of varying healthiness on hand. That is a big challenge for me.

In the past, this has been my big downfall. Making healthy cooked food and not eating it-especially if no one likes it (but me). There's a very whiny brat in my head who just can't understand why I'm feeding the kids *this meal if it is unhealthy.. and it's not, just not raw.and well you see how muddled it can get.

Once I get in the swing of things, it is so much easier to cook for myself and it becomes easier to juggle six separate meals a day. But since I can open a few oranges, I'm easier=) Sometimes they get the easy treatment and I get something more involved.

    Anyway, thanks for being here!=)

Default Today is my Day 1

    Hello!
I'm just joining in and today is my first day. I have been raw before but life took over and I went back. I am pregnant with our 7th blessing! I weigh what I should at full term right now and I have 4 months left! I am very excited to be raw again. The food is the best ever and it stops all my cravings for bad food. I am doing my own kombucha as well!
Glad to "meet" all of you!
    God Bless!

Good morning all! I've started with a few juiced grapefruits - yum! I had posted a while back asking for help on grapefruit juice - I was just throwing peeled grapefruits into the vitamix, and the taste was soo awful. So I got a little wooden citrus juicer and the taste is way better! I'm bummed I'm not getting nutrients from the pith, but seriously, I couldn't handle the taste.

Anyway, then I made a gs with spinach, bananas, mango and strawberries with coconut oil and coconut water. I've got half of that left for lunch, as well as a few oranges and an apple, and almonds. I may even stop at Thrive tonight for a treat after my last appointment - I'm getting my wisdom teeth tomorrow morning, so I'm feeling like treating myself to a gourmet meal tonight :)

Was going mad for salt last night, so I threw some kale chips in the dehydrator. Just licking the 'sauce' off my fingers after coating the chips helped. And we've been munching them down today!

I've found that I definitely, DEFINITELY need at least one large green smoothie a day, or else I start to feel like I must eat protein. From Alissa's book, I know that means I need fat... so, avacodo in a smoothie! Cures that craving quickly!

I'm definitely having fun doing this, even if it is an insane amount of work (for someone who used to just pop a frozen meal into the microwave and eat it while chasing the baby around the house). I've not yet managed to only have two days of food prep... it's hard to do more than one dish at a time, because while I ask my husband to take care of the baby, eventually I always end up with an 11-month-old pulling on the hem of my pants and babbling at me. SIGH!

But, hey, at least I've managed four days of 100% raw so far. I think I deserve a pat on the back for that. :P

    work day today..

    5am B: 4 nanners

Then between 7am and 7pm I had 18 medium to large nanners during breaks at work.

"D": 1 head romaine, cucumber, and 1 small avo.

1 hour bikeride on the way to work, and the same coming home, otherwise I wouldn't have had those four nanners so early. I certainly felt my stomach disagreeing with that decision.

I'll be having some more nanners probably to get my cal's in, or some oranges in a bit.

Joya's recipe sounds good, and Alissa has a recipe for "indian spinach dip" in her book.

I'll find a recipe for you, but I just kind of wing it. I soak cashews, about 2 cups of so, then add..
    agave or maple syrup
    cocoa/cacao
    salt
    vanilla
melted cocoa butter (can be found in a natural body care area)

then you can put in in a crust, but I ususually dont, I make a crust from chopped pecans..and only pecans then pour it onto them. When it's sliced they stick into the cheesecake.=)

However, I didn't make it today. I ended up making a broccoli salad to mimic the one at sweet tomatoes with a creamy marinade, raisins and salted cashews..I know it doesn't sound good..but it was my favorite sweet tomatoes prepared salad..

I'm in the process of a long slow painful move and have misplaced my camera charger..so I hope to one day take some more pics of my food..one day soon..
