Default Today's demo at whole foods

    Today's DEMO went VERY WELL!!!

    Here's what I served:

Alissa's Almost Salmon Pate on a Bed of Lettuce
    Onion Bread
    Alissa's Pineapple Apple Salad
    Alissa's Pina Colada

Everyone especially LOVED the Pate!!! Alissa you REALLY outdone yourself with THIS one!!! Thank you for such a FABULOUS recipe!!!

Once again, the MEN came out in DROVES!!!! I had a nice size handful stay for the ENTIRE demonstration and the Manager of Whole Foods actually had her MOM sit in!!! She told me that she was so excited about my demo and told everyone she knows about it!!!

Everyone was surprised how good the Pineapple Salad was also...especially because it's such a small amount of marinade. But, I knew it would be good because Alissa's Kim Chi also uses a small amount, but that's all you really need.

Unfortunately, there are no photos this time, but my DH did make a Video, so I'll post that when I can figure out how to do it!!!

I even met one of our VERY OWN from this wonderful site!!! I'm hoping that she will chime in and give you her prospective.....PLEEEEEESE!!!!!

I have another demo tomorrow, so I'll try to get some photos of that one!

    Time for Beddie-Bye!!!

    Tootles!!!

    Default Sunday's demo

RAW DEMO AT WHOLE FOODS on SUNDAY!!!

    Hello EVERYONE!!!!

Well, my Demo at Whole Foods in Sugarland, TX went VERY WELL!!!

    The MENU on Saturday was:
    **********************

Almost Salmon Pate on a Bed of Salad
    Pineapple/Apple Salad
    Pina Coladas
    Onion Bread

Everyone was really surprised how much the Pate REALLY tasted and looked like Salmon!!! It's so easy to make!!! I actually show you how to make that in my LEVEL 1 CLASS!!!! It's so versatile...you can use it to make Sandwiches using the Onion Bread or just Romaine Lettuce Leaves, Put inside of a Celery Stick, On a Salad, or any way you'd like! It's ENDLESS!!!

The MENU for Sunday (today) was:
    ***************************

    Banana's with Strawberry Sauce
Green Smoothies (made with H2O, Spinach, Bananas, Strawberries)
Breakfast Pate Scramble (made with Almonds & Sunflower Seeds)
    Eggplant Bacon
    Onion Bread

Everyone LOVED everything I made! I tried to keep the menu SIMPLE and allow for time to answer questions and talk about the RAW lifestyle. Again, lots of MEN came over to sample!

Today one of my Students were there which was nice because she brought 2 friends with her and was able to give her two thumbs up on my RAW Box!!! YEA!!!

Default I got to meet Renne'!

I was shopping at my local Whole Foods when I heard someone doing a demo about raw foods. I was so excited! I told my husband, "Listen - raw foods are finally getting mainstream!" We finished our shopping and I heard the presenter mention that she does live food classes, coaching, catering and boxes. You mean she makes raw food for people?? I have to get to her card! I walked over to the table to introduce myself and was shocked and delighted to meet our very own Renee'. She was even more sparkly, bubbly, and beautiful in person and her food looked super fabulous. I think she was a little surprised that I recognized her as a celebrity :-) (That's me in the blue in the pic above) Made my day!

I feel super lucky to live close enough to her to be part of the raw food community she is growing!

    Much Love,
    Katy

Hi Renee, I finally saw your raw boxes! AWESOME!
I want to say this to you, pulling for you and out of love for you.!!!!

Raw food takes alot to prepare, as you well know. It is way beyond any other kind of food. I am not sure of variables there and income levels...however, be sure to charge what they are worth! You are WORTH IT!

I charge almost ten dollars for ONE superfood smoothie! One box of raw food with all its shopping and prep time etc, has definitely got to be higher than ten dollars? I get ten dollars for a salad with dressing. One dollar each for raw chocolate candies. Ten dollars in nothing for the value you are imparting Renee. You got it going on girl.

You know your cost and time and all. I wont step on toes. I am coming from a place of, at one time, selling myself and my talent and abilities short.
Then shortchanging what I charge as well.

Consider this: you are NOT just selling them food. You are giving all you have done for learning, practicing, cert course and cheffing. All that stands behind your food.

All that having been said, if this is exactly how you want it to be and love the giving and sharing of raw in this way, then so be it and leave it as it is. It may be perfect just as it is.

You might be in it for love not money...haaha BOTH is awesome. I give away a whole lot as well as get a good pay for my food. It works!

Love and much success to you Renee.

Thanks Renee for sharing your menu as I was just asked yesterday to do a class at Sunflower and they want a 3 hour free class, no pay here, no paying customers but they have sign up. I can get myself free PR to do classes in my own home. They of course provide ingredients. Still 3 hours is a long time to give away a $75 class I could be doing in my own kitchen. I would be giving people a tour of the produce department as well. I should be on the calendar or May and also in June.

With this large window I do NOT want to be preparing raw foods which I would do in my home paid for classes I want to promote. Even 2 hours is a long time. I was thinking maybe I should have the event planner divide that time into 90 minute classes and have two groups. This way I can market myself to two large groups if I am going to be donating 3 hours of time. I can repeat the same menu for the second group as well with new people.

They will have sign ups in advance.

Were you marketing your other services to this group? Catering or such? I am not doing any catering services as this is just one of my areas I embrace, but just another income stream to what I will be doing as well (writing book or ebook about my dogs recovery from LUPUS--unbelievable experience and she's RECOVERED too...biopsy diagnosed diseased -- she's back to normal and I call her RECOVERED/healed).

I would love as a side note making meals at a local ritzy assisted living facility where I go in to the person's apartment with my equipment, prepare the food, be their companion for an hour and charge them according as companion and also chef. I could have a few of these people and do it in my kitchen and all can pay me a set fee and then they bring this food to their own place. So if 4 people show up, registered, each pay for that service as opposed to just giving each one in their own kitchen the food and the companionship. Like a mini cooking class but I prepare and they get the meal to keep however not really a cooking class or school as I would be the one just doing my kitchen gig and they could be sitting around socializing.

For the store I am wondering about the menu. This store brings in a lot of Spanish people so I don't know if I am looking at a 100% raw menu and thinking older people too who may not have teeth and want some of the cooked vegan stuff. Gotta work on my ideas, but glad I am typing here as it hit me to do the 2 90 minutes which is still their desires, but to me more reasonable than keeping people around in one spot for 3 hours.

    Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

We have a bunch of old folks homes here. I am not sure but I see these folks pretty set in eating what they have eaten for the past 70 years. I worked in an elderly community...I learned that you dont mess with their food. hahaha

Even tho it sure needs messin with.

    Hi Sis...

I understand all that you're saying, and believe me, there IS a Method to my "Madness". :)

This is NOT the focus of my RAW Business. This is just a service I'm offering at this moment in time...

    Hi Carol!

You're Welcome!!! WOW!!! You've got a lot of GREAT ideas! As I was reading your post, I kept thinking about something Alissa said in class, "Continue to SEE your VISION." Keep in mind what you want and work towards that goal. I have my goal in clear focus and everything I am doing is a step in that direction. Whole Foods doesn't pay me a salary, but they buy all of the ingredients for the food and I don't have to pay anything for space rental and I get to advertise my Alissa Cohen Certification Classes to Clients I would not have otherwise been able to meet. Also, I continue to get calls from my RAW Teacher site through Alissa.

Sometimes you have to try different avenues to see what works for you. Like when Alissa took off the product selling from her site. That didn't "work" for her, so she adjusted. I see my RAW Boxes and Whole Foods Demo in the same light. As long as I'm successful in using that, I'll continue to do it.

Oh, by the way, MY NEXT WHOLE FOODS DEMO IS SATURDAY, APRIL 17th at 2:00PM AND SUNDAY APRIL 18TH AT 11:00 AM!!!Come on out and meet me if you can!!!!

Ohhh cool. I DIDNT see the other boxes...rawk on sista. That is awesome. Always a super idea to give them a small box for trying it out and it gets them wanting more...nice!

I was wondering do you have a kitchen that is certified to make the food? I have this coming up as I think it is required here. I am not having to do it right now but it might be as things get bigger.

I have a gal that will have one soon and I might use hers.

Its a good idea to do the tastings and demos out there and have it draw into your biz.
We have quite alot of places here that can be done in toooooo.
