Default Do I need to peel ginger?

I like to add ginger to my juices, and being lazy, have a question - do I need to peel it?

Cherie Calbom, "The Juice Lady", says YES. That was at a seminar I went to. Her reason was bugs burrowing into the outer skin. Might be a personal thing between her and bugs. :)

If it's just bugs- I can take it. I just don't like slugs in my lettuce.

    People, thanks for your ops!

I usually add ginger and never thought to peel. Then I read the word *bugs* and, whoa. (One reason I cut out animal-derived foods was because of the potential for little itty bitty tiny, well, bugs.)

If you pros can handle it, so can I!;)

Yes, u need to peel the ginger because even if you wash it with water there are still some germs that can't be remove by the water. So it is better if we just peel it..

    thanks,

I would like to recommend for her to read the book "The Four Agreements" by Miguel Luiz, I sure it's available in your library. Anyway, the 2nd agreement is: Don't take things personally. I don't, neither do the bugs, and I wish her all the best in resolving her personal conflicts.
