My chihuahuas LOVE my green smoothie. If I make the mistake of leaving the glass on the floor Mr. Beans will start licking it right out of my cup.

I am toying with the idea of putting them on a raw diet because they always beg for my fresh produce when I am chopping it(the only dogs I know that will eat almost any raw veggie). If I open a banana they will come bounding across the room to get some!!

My little furbabies LOVE Green Smoothie... avoid the no-no foods, keep it just fresh greens, fresh fruit and maybe a little sweetener, and I don't see an issue with it.

Just don't give them a smoothie with Onion or Cacao in it!

AFAIK, grapes are the only fruit that is poisonous to cats.

If you give it as an occasional treat, there shouldn't be any problems. But PLEASE keep in mind that felines are carnivores, not omnivores like canines. Their bodies have a lot of trouble processing fruit and veg (and grains, of course).

And there are plenty of fruit/veg that are TOXIC to animals. Avocados definitely are. They contain persin, which damages the heart/lungs in dogs and cats. The high fat content also can cause stomach upset or, in extreme cases, pancreatitis which is painful, dangerous, and costly to fix.

Here is a list of various foods that you should avoid for your pets' health: http://www.vetinfo.com/dtoxin.html

However, if it's just a lick or two every few days of SAFE foods, that shouldn't be a problem as long as otherwise they're getting plenty of bones, meat, and organs to give them a complete and balanced kitty-diet. :)
