    Unhappy UTIs and menopause

Hi over 50 girls. I am 51 and experiencing frequent cystitis (especially after sex). Doc wants me on estrogen (no). Can't keep taking antibiotics and then anti-fungals for thrush. Has eating raw helped anyone with this? I am about 70% raw at present. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

    Yes.
I did suffer. It was not frequent but was severe. I think that I can possibly say that it was in times of stress so have you considered this aspect of it and try to reduce your stress.
I have not suffered since going raw four and a half years ago.

I'd suggest going 100% and doing research (if you've not done so) on the cause so the cause can be eliminated.

If stress is it, then, maybe some EFT, journaling, Reiki, would help.

Instead of anti-biotics (not really sure they work for that) I'd look into GSE (grapefruit seed extract), probiotics and enzymes.

if you're using latex condoms this may be part of the cause..you may be sensitive to latex or allergic & not know it. This is how it was for me many yrs ago. It was horrible until it healed.

I recall at the time that one piece of advice was to have a pee straight after sex.
    Staying well hydrated was another.
I recall sleeping (or trying to sleep) in the bath one night so that I could pee at will. This was after trying to prop myself up on the toilet by leaning against the wall.
It is not a pleasant experience and one that I am happy to be rid of.

    Default Utis and menopause

    Hi Andiji,
I've experienced several Uti's since the onset of menopause and this is what I've found to be of help.
DMannose (powdered supplement) a natural sugar that keeps e-coli bacteria from attaching to the bladder wall and creating an infection (look on internet for more info.) I take this before and after sex along with washing well after.
Avoid lubricants with chemicals, bath products or laundry soap with perfumes or dyes.
Keep well hydrated at ALL times. I have found that dehydration will often cause cystitis symptoms.
I also use estrogen cream (made by a compounding pharmacy) one time per week which prevents thinning of the vaginal wall, adds lubrication and thereby lessens friction or pain during sex.
If you make the effort, you can minimize the frequency of UTIs. I actually saw a doctor who prescribes antibiotics on a continual basis for women with UTI symptoms after sex. If it gets too far, that may be necessary but most times, I can get rid of the bacteria causing the problem on my own. Good luck to you and let me know how it goes!:)
