Been Bad... But I'm Back
Long story short.... was doing really well on raw then mid November something 'snapped' and I went back to SAD. Still trying to figure out what was going on in my head... just so much emotional stuff I think.
SAD. Standard American Diet?.... I call it SAD. Sick and Dead diet.
You name it I ate it. Truth be known I didn't even enjoy it. Made me feel like crap. BUT, that being said, it also drove home just how wonderful raw really is!!!
I'm back (no.... not just 'cause it's New Year's Day...) and totally committed.
Question. I have some serious problems with my one hip/leg/knee (docs don't have a clue what's wrong... test after test after test....)
One wrong move and I can't even walk for days. Gotta say, while on raw I did go from barely making it from couch to washroom without a cane to being able to hobble around the house without a cane!!! Not only that, I was taking 2 Tylenol 4's every four hours and am now totally free of that junk. Being on SAD has gotten me back to taking the odd Tylenol 1's, so that's another reason for coming back to raw. I don't EVER want to get back to my Tylenol 4 'addiction'.
You don't know how awful it is to be immobile until you experience it.
I'd like to add exercise but like I said, one wrong move and I'm screwed. Can't leave the house 'cause I can't take the stairs. It can take as long as 10 minutes to make it down 4 stairs. Biking is out. Walking is difficult and I'm pretty well restricted but do try to walk around the house as much as possible.
Anyone got any suggestions for exercise? Sometimes other people can see the obvious that we ourselves can't.

Stretching/yoga-type exercises, at least until more mobile. If you can't even do a simple stretching exercise, then you need physical therapy.
Once you're raw for awhile, hopefully most symptoms will improve. May also need to take something like Vitalzym or MSM.
The joy of coming back! And knowing the benefits! Cause you've experienced them. Raw is good to us -- too bad we aren't always good to us. As you can tell, I am speaking from experience. I too, have slipped, suffered, and am coming back for all the benefits I experienced while all raw.
Exercise idea that comes to mind is using a mini trampoline or a rebounder. I remember hearing that even if the immobile one sits on it while someone else bounces (gently) that there are benefits. Also wondering if you gently, very gently bounced (without your feet leaving the mat), wondering if you could do this easily. There are suppose to be so many benefits of rebounding for our bodies. . . from the inside. Search these ideas on the net.
Oh, I bet daily green smoothies would be really beneficial.
Good luck in your quest for better health. Don't give up! Ask God for the strength to do this. He too wants you to be healthy.

Thanks to you both Dimond and BDraw for your encouraging words. BDraw, you are so right in saying that we just aren't good enough to ourselves.
I hadn't said a prayer in a while and started doing so again a few nights ago. I thanked god for what he's given me and asked for strength to become what he wants us to be, what we were created for. I also try to thank him throughout the day when something lovely happens to me. Nothing heavy duty, just a simple "thank you".
Dimond, you came up with the same answer I did. I practiced Hatha Yoga for many years and still remember feeling wonderfully long, strong and lean. It's also a form of exercise that's gentle on the body while at the same time making you aware of every inch.
Raw got me off my cane and 99% of my meds. I am so determined because I know that keeping raw will get me where I want to be.
Thanks again and may your lives be wonderfully raw!! ;) ;)
BDRaw, I never even thought of that. A rebounder is such a good idea.
And Gab, are you checking your pH? Second urine of the day?
I'll bet if you really tried to keep it up high, you'd notice a diff much more quickly.

No. Never thought of that. Many years ago I tried low carb and always checked my ketone levels.
Bear with me... I can be kinda 'duh' sometimes ... honestly never thought to check PH.
Amazing what other people can come up with that you just don't think of yourself.
How do I check PH? Same way as ketones? Some 'strips' I can get? At the drug store?
