Raw books
Of course we all know that Alissa Cohen's book Living on Live Foods is the best raw book ever, but have you found any other books to be helpful to you in your journey?

Ok, here's the ones I've read:
Genefit---Good, interesting, different approach, raw taken to the next level (forget this if you think going 100% is hard...this is for hard core rawists)
Raw Power!---don't buy it, see if your library has it.
Raw Secrets--I think it was ok, I read it too fast
Living Foods for Optimum Health---Good
Shazzies Books---Good, worth the money
I've heard "12 steps to Raw"??? is really good, but I haven't read it.

Food guy books
Hi Everyone,
I have a few people I look to for raw books. Alissa, Juliano, Roxanne. It's funny...... we only need to use thier first names now.
I must say some other inspirational books are worth noting. Jean Francois Meteigner wrote a great book called "CUISINE NATURELLE". It wasn't so much the recipes I was interested in, it was the introduction to the book where he writes about the respect he has food food and the way it is prepared. The simple fresh French style, though cooked.
Another guy who loves all types of food and and writes good books is Mark Bittman. His book "The Minimalist Cooks" based on his NY TIMES column is a great way to see that by using just two or three ingredients you can whip up something great.
Though these are "cook" books, they offer ideas on food preparation, style, and you certainly feel the passion these authors have for thier subject, just like we have for raw foods.
Peace,
M.B.

I love this book! "CUISINE NATURELLE".
I know what you mean monkeyboy. Sometimes just the energy that comes through when you know someone is so passionate about what they are doing gets you excited in your own life about your own thing, even if it is different from theirs.
Passion is contagious!
I will have to check out "The Minimalist Cooks" as well.
One of my all time favorites is Ann wigmore's recipes for a longer life.
Its so simple and outdated by todays standards of raw, but i just love it and ive had it for years.

Why isn't Alissa book available at the big chain stores?
Hi Everyone,
Since we're talking about books.
I went to Borders books last night. I punched in the title and author (alissa cohen) but no info available. I understand you can at times make good money and have more control distributing your own products, but I was wondering if Alissa has sought out a major player to help promote her book.
My friend has written three books about the music business and has received good press nationally. I'll email him and ask for his book agents number. He seems to have a good relationship with the industry.
Peace,
M.B.

Hey monkeyboy,
I am about to venture out shortly into borders and those kinds of places. But yes, if you are not selling a lot to them its a big chunk they want to take so i wanted to get as much out to the people i knew were waiting for it. We seem to be doing really well over the Internet so far! but you'll soon see it everybook store far and wide
Best,
Alissa
