Annie,
It's all good! Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint. There are no Raw police here. Sometimes situations happen....The key to staying RAW is, to pick yourself up and just keep swimming upstream! I honestly think you're doing that. You've been such an inspiration to all of us!!! I can't wait to see what you'll make next!!!
Lots of HUGS!!!

Yup, Renee, I so agree! It's over and hubby is very happy about the weekend, and that's so important to me! I think it's hysterical that you say I'm an inspiration when you are the one who started it all!

And he LIKES to eat out!!! So it's always interesting when he is here with me... but I managed these last two weekends with him to stay 100%, even bringing my own olives + avocado to the restaurant yesterday for my salad.
Actually, I have no problem at all at home. Hubby really doesn't sabotage me - this past weekend was a major exception! And eating out is absolutely no problem for me when it is only one meal - it was the 10 meals in a row that got to me! I cook SAD for him and have no desire to eat it. For all of our married life (going on 45 years!) I have been a "from-scratch" cook, and continue that for him, so he gets very little processed food. I am just so content with the raw lifestyle that I am not tempted by SAD. For me, my hubby and family are far more important than the food they eat - or the food I eat.
Keeping on keeping on.........

Hence the "unintentional" wording choice... didn't want you to think I was bashing your Dear One! I wasn't!! I'm sorry!
Congratulations on 45-years together, btw! Longevity in a committed relationship = ALWAYS encouraging to a young person like me who has grown up in a shattered world!!! :) :)
My sweetheart and I have been together nearly two years now, friends for two years before that. We like to think we might've known each other in one or more of our past lives, as well, because it certainly seems we've been together much longer!

I LOVE RAW!!!

I'm working on increasing my B-12 intake... I've been hunting for some raw foods that would be B-vitamin dense... suggestions most warmly accepted!!!

Nutritional yeast. Fermented foods.
53yo mom to six homeschooled children, part time nurse, living in beautiful Montana.
Getting back on the wagon after being off raw for over a year.

No problem, Greenie! I didn't really think you were bashing him! We talk often about how we both got "lucky" the first time around. But I'm here to tell you it takes work!!! The path hasn't always been smooth along the way, but we were committed to each other. We are of a generation where committment meant something, unlike now. Divorce seems an easy out, whereas I think we should work past the blips. Sorry - enough preaching!
I love raw, too!

Interesting, katchmoleen. I just made a comment about nutritional yeast in the Alissa and Annie thread. I didn't realize it was a good source for B-12. Do you have any further details, i.e. how much, how often, etc?
I made a huge batch of sauerkraut before I started fixing only Alissa's recipes, so I have that and I eat some daily. Does Alissa have any fermented foods in her book, do you know?
Thanks for the info.

I agree! I think every blip and bump and "What the Heck?" time that we work through, and come out on the other side still holding hands and loving each other makes our lives that much richer!!! I'm a big questioner who thinks out loud and, being a true-born Cancer, I also tend to bounce up and down alot on things. He's a tried-and-true Taurus with the steadfast, stubborn nature that can weather my insanity! I can't imagine anyone else I've ever known, dated, or wanted to date before putting up with all the crazies of me and still buying me roses at the end of the day.
/END rant, I promise
(It's about time this thread got off-topic a little... hee hee!)
In other news...
I've been eating ALOT of nutritional yeast lately, probably a tablespoon a day between my Cheezy Onion Crackers and my Cheezy Tomato Bisque soup that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE and eat daily.
I'll keep it up, and meantime start looking for a guaranteed 100% RAW source of nutritional yeast because I'm not certain if this stuff is raw or not, yet... practice, practice... this 100% RAW living takes practice, education, inspiration, determination, and lots more PRACTICE!

I mentioned nutritional yeast in the Alissa and Annie thread. Do you just put the yeast on the cracker, or do you mix it with something?

Annie - I usually sprinkle it on the wet cracker mix after I've spread it out on the TEFLEX sheet. As the cracker dehydrates, the cheese is "baked" into the cracker and creates a really delicious glaze!

Time for some FOOD PHOTOS from the Green Woman! And since these are recipes I'm inventing as I go along, I'll share with you the ingredients!
Carrot Miso Soup

Ingredients:
1 T. Red miso (unpasteurized, organic... $4.99 for small tub/Sunflower Market)
1/4 c. Green Onions
1/2 large organic Carrot
1/3 c. dried Dulce
1-2 c. Water
Combine all ingredients in your Vitamix, blend for a full minute or longer until soup is slightly warmed. Serve immediately, and ENJOY!!! (P.S. It's rich and delicious and packed with essential minerals!)
Green Woman's Veggie Rolls

Ingredients:
6 sheets Raw Nori
1 T. dried Makabu (optional)
1/2 c. dried Dulce strips (not flakes)
1/2 c. dried Arame
1 avocado
2 large carrots
2 organic Roma tomatoes
1 cucumber
1/4 c. chopped Green Onion
1 T. Apple cider vinegar
Bragg's liquid aminos
Vegetable oil
Sea Salt
How to Prepare:
* Slice cucumbers in Saladacco (or slice thin, thin strips with a knife). Put strips in a small container with vinegar and a pinch of sea salt. Seal container, shake gently to mix and set aside to marinate.
* Shred carrots into spagetti-thin strips in Saladacco (or shredder) and combine in container with sea vegetables, onions, a few squirts of Bragg's, a little Vegetable oil, and a pinch of sea salt. Seal container, shake ingredients together, and set aside to marinate. (Note: You may want to soak the sea vegetables - arame, dulce, and makabu - in water before hand.)
* Slice avocado and tomatoes into thin strips and set aside.
* Lay Nori sheets out on cutting board at least 2-sheets thick, and squirt a small amount of Bragg's over sheet to soften sheet. Lay a portion of marinated carrot/sea veggies mixture, cucumbers, and sliced avocado/tomato onto the end of the sheets, and roll up like a sushi roll. Chop into 6 sections with a sharp, serrated knife.
Serve garnished with a sprig of parsley to show off your culinary amazingness!
ENJOY!

Annie - I'm gonna pop over to your other thread now, but in case it's not there... can you post a recipe?? I'd really love to make a batch!
