Default What 40 pounds feels like.....

Ok, so i have to share this and brag a little......

I just lost my first 40 pounds. My husband lifts weights in the basement, he has assorted weights of 35, 40, 50 and 85 pounds. He called me down there to see what a 40 pound weight feels like.

I could only lift 40 pounds ONE INCH off the floor. I can't believe how heavy it is! That is what i was carrying around on my body 3 months ago. That has to be absolutely horrendous for my heart and every other organ. I can't imagine someone taping that thing to my back and having to walk around, go to work and sleep with that extra weight on me. It's really an eye opener to see your shed weight in this light. Phew!!!!

You are so awesome. I am as proud of you as you are of yourself. And does it really seem that long since we started talking about it in the weight loss thread. It doesn't seem that long to me. I think where I would be if I was doing as well as you are!!

    That is fantastic!! Congratulations!!

I remember way back when, a lady told when I was a bit discouraged at having lost 1/4 pound -- that that was the equivelant of one stick of butter!

You've lost the equivelant of 160 sticks of butter! Heehee! *Ü*

thank you everyone for the kind words. I keep imagining someone taping that weight to my back, how that would feel (like on The Biggest Loser). I can't even lift it off the floor and that was on my body. I love that show but even though both trainers in real life are vegans, they advocate fish, skim milk, yogurt, chicken, all of that. Think what a great thing it would be if they taught their vegan eating plan to the contestants, how much they could learn and then actually go home and keep it up the rest of their lives. In this day and age that would be remarkable. But too "radical" for the mainstream, i guess.
