Default Would like to make dehydrated food for lunch at school

I posted a while ago I've been making a huge 2000 calorie smoothie each school morning and drink half for breakfast and put the other half in a thermos to have as lunch at school. I'm starting to want something different especially with the cold weather coming.

Does anyone have suggestions for something dehydrated I could make that would allow me to have about 1000 calories that I could make enough of in my 9 tray excalibur to have each school day? It will have to be something with dense foods like nuts or seeds to provide me with the calories I need.

    Thanks

    hey there!

since it seems you are not scared of the healthy calories, those friends we call mono unsaturated fats, (i believe)....i would think of concotions to make out of sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, and corn (which has a considerable about of calories, but of course, it breaks down slowly, leaving you feeling full longer.

maybe potato chips? or you could make little sandwhich patties out of corn, shredded potatoes, and anything else you like. or sweet potatoe french fries!!!

if you think of what you like food-wise, and the consistency to how you like it prepared (patties, dips, chips, etc)..it is easy to be creative.

personally, i loooooove sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, lemon juice, spices, onions all pureed and made into a deep. it is high in fiber and calories (from the seeds) but is amazing. i dip veggies in it or u can pack it between crackers

    hope this helps!

This doesn't require dehydrating but I had a wicked good nori roll today, it was filled with pumpkin and sunflower seed pate with julienned carrots and cucumbers. Pretty filling too. Even better with avocado inside and sesame seeds sprinkled over the top. Oh man, I want some more right now!

I wanted something dehydrated so I could make it for the week in advance. Fresh raw food normally only keeps for 3 days.

    Thanks

Once I made a sweet potato pie that I couldn't finish. I put the leftover pie (filling and nut crust) in the blender with enough water added to blend it smooth, then spread it out thin on para-flex sheets. I dried it until it wasn't tacky and peeled off easily. It turned out great! It looked and felt like leather, but tasted like pumpkin pie.

I did the same thing with Alissa's blueberry/banana pie. It turned out great, too.
