Hello!
I'm so happy to find such an amazing forum! *twirls happily*
To let you know a little bit about myself, i'm 26 yrs old, and I feel ashamed for never really caring of what i've been eating until now!
To be more precise, i wasn't a junk food addict (i haven't eaten at mcDonald/fast food for months) but that didn't mean i was eating well, i would eat pasta, bread, a lot of meat (my mom would always be insisting that I should eat meat, milk & cheese, so I could get my proteins and calcium!so veggies and fruits were my lowest priority...)
So that's what i've been doing all my life until a few days ago....
While I was looking for a diet, (since i'm a bit overweight, and the funny thing is that no matter the quantity i'd eat i'd keep getting bigger and bigger!), I found that amazing documentary called "Raw for Life: The Encyclopedia of the Raw Food Lifestyle"
What can i say, i was just overwhelmed, i kept nodding my head to every single thing they were saying lol, because I felt that I finally discovered the TRUTH after all these years!
I am currently 80% raw, the truth is that the only cooked meal i can't give up is rice (i'm asian) but except that i'm so ready to give up all the rest because i know that my body and soul will thank me for it! I also received Alissa's book (i luv it!!!) but i'm starting simple for now, just making some big salads and taking the time to learn her new techniques and recipes.
Sorry for this long post, and also for my english (i mostly speak french since I live in Montreal)
I want to thank everyone for being such a great inspiration for us "newcomers" and a big thank to Alissa for making this wonderful forum!
Have a great day everyone!!!
Peace
