    Default Alissa's Banana Bread

This is in my dehyd right now. A caveat: Don't add all of the banana at once. My batter was too runny to form into a loaf so it is spread out to make bread slices. Next time, I will start with one banana and see what happens. It is kind of a fiddly recipe, since it takes 3 days to sprout the wheat berries, but I think it will be good. I added a little salt, too.

Not at all!!! I put all kinds of things together and have never had a problem with that. Good ? though...

Hey you!!! I'm so sorry that you were having trouble seeing the photos! But, I'm glad that you figured it out!!! I was gonna send them to you in an e-mail if you didn't...:)

Actually, I went in and deleted the photos of my kids. I kinda felt uneasy about posting them in the first place, and after discussing it with my Hubby, I decided to take it out...just felt safer that way. I don't think anything would be done, but it's better to be safe than sorry...

Thank YOU!!!! I'm having SO much FUN!!! :)

Here's what we had for lunch today: (Alissa's Almost Tuna Pate on Onion Bread (Dylan CAN have Almonds...), Salad w/Eggplant Bacon

Later, I'll make the Quiche so that I can eat it tomorrow. The Snicker Bites are easy to make...as a matter of fact, I have the filling already made in the Freezer, just need to put it inside of the Date... And, the Soup I will make fresh tomorrow when I have it with the Quiche. I'll prob put it in the Dehydrator and warm it a bit before I eat it...

Gotta make a Smoothie today also, and Leftovers for dinner. My kids are doing GREAT today!

I'm really tired today...had to work last night. I didn't get around to making the Quiche yet. Maybe tomorrow. Gotta rest tonight. I just had one of Alissa's Berry Bars...Still SOOO good!!! I have 4 more left in my freezer. They are just as good today as they were the day I made them.

It's almost "that time of the month" again... Still ***NO*** PMS!!!! I'm So thrilled about that! I used to have Mood-Swings, Depression, Cramps, Boating, Irritability...you know the drill... I hope that it's gone forever!!! I do feel "heavy", though...like "the ladies" weigh a ton!!! Guess I gotta have "some" indication, huh?

    Anyway, Goodnight RAWbies... Sleep tight...

I woke up this morning and was going to start a thread about this. When I did my last fast it started the day before my period. I noticed a major difference in my attitude during. It was like a calmness that I don't usually have. I wondered if it had to do with the fasting or if I was just out of my mind. I'm glad you posted this. No PMS huh. That's fantastic!!!

Reporting on the Banana Bread: As I said, mine was too thin and I had to spread it out, so it is more like a cracker than a bread. However, the flavor is good, and I will make it again. Next time, though, I will stir in some chopped walnuts or pecans and make it a Banana Nut Bread. Yummm~!

I'm happy for you with the PMS. Since I am way too old for that train anymore, I can't report on how raw affects it for me. But raw affects so many things in a happy way that I am never going back!

Getting my freezer stocked with some yummy things.

Today I am dehydrating apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon. The apples are just so good right now!

Thanks for all these posts, Renee.

    Default WEEK 5 Day 35

    Hi Everyone!!!

I'm so glad that this thread is so inspiring to so many!!! :)

Well, my Kids wanted Alissa's Enchaladas for Dinner, so I'm making that right now so it'll be ready tonight for them. For lunch I made a Huge Salad w/Avacado (gotta make some more Eggplant Bacon...we're OUT ALREADY!!! I saved the Marinade from the last batch, but it looked rather cloudy, so I think I'll just start again fresh...). I had Alissa Zippy Tomato Soup with it. I thought it was good, but...

The kids didn't like it, so I made some of Alissa's Corn Chowder for them and they LOVED it. It's actually a favorite of theirs...

Here are the Snicker Bites (you can get the recipe here on RFT.)

These are DELICIOUS!!! They Freeze So WELL!!!!! Try 'um!!!

On the computer at work, I noticed a trip with a layover in Boston this Weekend!!!!!!!!!!!! If my Hubby is off to school the kiddies, I'm gonna take the trip and go to Grezzo!!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! I'll let you know!!!!

Renee - Ooooh, I have to try some of these recipes you're doing... I've been making Crab Cakes, Berry Bars, my own version of flax crackers (with tomatoes, basil, seasonings and onion!), carob-chocolate granola, and a few other really fun recipes...

But some of yours look AMAZINGLY yummy and fun!!!

Are these ALL out of Alissa's book? How did I miss things like Snicker Bites and the Bacon??

    Good morning Green Woman!!!

No, the Snicker Bites and Eggplant Bacon are NOT from Alissa's book, but they are from Alissa's Site (RFT), so I thought it would be o.k. to add them to my Challenge. Even in Alissa's book she uses recipes from Ann and Elaine, so I also added Onion Bread since my kids love it. Here are the links for those:

    FOR EGGPLANT BACON:

(FROM MIAHTAY...See photo above... These are SOOO GOOOD!!!)

    Enjoy!!!

    Default Traveling on a Plane

    Hi, Renee,

Thanks for all the great efforts on our behalf.

In your last thread you showed pics of the food you took on the plane with you. You said that all of the "liquids" were in 3 oz containers. What kind of containers do you use that TSA will allow? I don't need much in my quart-size baggie so I can take some sauces, dressings, etc. I am taking a flight next week and have a long layover at ORD. Don't want to be tempted by the food courts and certainly don't want a $2 banana - that I can take with me. But I'd really love to take some zucchini pasta and marinara sauce. Can you clue me in a little? (Don't want to be tempted to hit Steak and Shake when I get to my destination!)

Are you losing weight? So glad your kids are doing this with you. I wish just one person in my SAD family would do it with me, but so far, no takers. They are all proud of me (from a size 20 to a size 8!) but I am just happy with the way clothes look on me. Going thru all those sizes is expensive!

    Thanks again, and congrats!

    Annie

You are SO welcome! Thanks for "bumping" it so that others can see it! :)

I got my containers from the Dollar Store! You can also get some from Walmart... As long as they are 3 oz containers, you shouldn't have a problem. I put all of my food in my soft cooler and I've never had a problem...even if I'm out of uniform. I think one time they asked me what it was and I told them it was Marinara Sauce for my pasta and they said o.k....

If you Spiralize the Zucchini before you leave your house, it WILL keep for a while and actually become more "Spagetti-like" in texture. I like my noodles better that way. Even when I'm home, I'll let them sit on the counter for a while before I eat them.

Yea!!!!! I'm DEFINITELY losing weight!!! And, congratulations on your weight loss!!! WOW!!! What a loss that was!!! It's "that time of the month" right now, but I'm still maintaining my loss, so I KNOW that RAW has made a difference. I'm not gonna weigh until my 60 days are over though... But, I know that I've dropped a dress size! My uniform is fitting better, and I'm not having PMS the way that I used to!!! ZERO CRAMPS!!!! ...which is AWESOME!!!

Me Too!!! Hey, gotta tell you what happened yesterday. For Dinner they were being kinda "picky" about what they wanted to eat...I was getting frustrated, so I fixed them a plate of the SAD food I made my Hubby and "called it a day"... Well, they REFUSED TO EAT IT!!! They stood right over the SAD plate and said, "No, Mom... We're staying RAW! We're sorry...we'll eat what you're eating..." ISN'T THAT FABULOUS!!! I had made myself an Onion Bread Sandwich (using Onion Bread, Avacado, Lettuce, Tomato, and Sprouts) and a Salad. So, I made 2 more plates of that and they ATE THE ENTIRE RAW MEAL WITHOUT COMPLAINING!!! ...wish I had taken photos of THAT!!! :)

And hey, don't give up on your Family! They may come around by just continuing to see your progress. Continue to "invite" them to taste your food from time to time. When you DO eat RAW with them at the table, really show them that what you're eating is UMMM, UMMM, DELICIOUS!!!! Lick your lips, close your eyes, let yourself be "taken away" by the taste of it and SAVOUR your meal...right in front of them!!! Then open your eyes and say, "So, how's YOUR food!!!!" LOL!!!!
