I can't decide which pictures I like better, the food or the kids! In a couple years, you're going to have to beat the girls off with a stick, your son is so handsome. I have an 11 yr old boy too who's vegan, but lately I can't seem to get him to try new things, he just likes same old, same old.

Anyways, just wanted you to know that I followed your other thread daily, just never got around to sending a message. So glad you are doing it again. YOU ARE TRULY AN INSPIRATION!

    Default Week 5 DAY 31...still

    Hey Yau'll!!!

Thanks everyone for your kind words!!! Today was definitely a good day! I've been an uncookin' lady today!!! Sydnei helped me...

NOTE: I took the photos of the kids off of the thread for personal reasons...

I really want my kids to enjoy RAW and have a variety to choose from, so I asked them what THEY wanted and they said that they like Alissa's Banana Leather, Eggplant Bacon, and Onion Bread. So, I made all of it!!! This way, they have a lot to choose from and they won't get bored or frustrated. I also have plenty of Fruit on hand for them (fresh and dehydrated). Here are the trays that I made today:

So, my un-cooking for DAY 31 is COMPLETE!!! I made:

Bananas, Berries, & Cream (Pg 443)....................(Had for breakfast today!!!)
Eggplant Parmesean (Pg 402)............................(*made the night before--Had for Dinner today)
Banana Leather (Pg 524) .................................(dehydrating now)
Angel Hair Pasta w/Marinara Sauce (Pg 395)........(Had for Lunch today w/Salad)
Eggplant Bacon (RFT)......................................(dehydrating now--added for my kids)
Onion Bread............................................. ......(dehydrating now--added for my kids)

On Day 34, I will make:

    Spinach Mushroom Quiche (Pg 433)
    Zippy Tomato Soup (Pg 360)
    Snicker Bites (RFT)

Until then, I will enjoy the delicious meals that I have made!!! I warmed up some of my Eggplant Parmesean (EP) in the dehydrator...YOU GUYS!!! It's better than yesterday!!! Definitely one of my favorite recipes from Alissa!!! Got some EP left in the freezer along with some Noasted Turkey I made last week.

I must tell you, making all of this did take some time in the kitchen. But, it was SOOOO worth it! My kids helped out a lot...cutting veggies, gathering ingredients and reading recipes. They were my official "samplers"!!!

    Hi renee,

I noticed the plastic wrap over a couple of your trays in you DH. Is this a way of keeping the other flavors from mixing with the other trays?

Also, what a FABULOUS idea having your kids join you!!! And they WANTED TO!?! Incredible!!! That would most definitely keep me raw. I'm going to challenge my two older girls to do this. You ARE an inspiration!

Thanks for continuing your 30-day challenge.

    Blessings,

    Chelle

    Hi everyone!!!

Chelle, unfortunately when I bought my dehydrator, it didn't come with any Teflex Sheets, so I use Plastic Wrap...works great for me, till I can get some. I just wipe it down and reuse it, if it can be reused, or just start with a fresh sheet every time...depending on what I'm making. Even if I had Teflex Sheets, I wouldn't use it for the Banana Leather cuz my kids like to peel it off of the plastic like Fruit Roll-Ups...

I ***KNOW*** that I said I wasn't gonna make anything else until Day 4, but I just couldn't HELP myself!!!! I made Alissa's Kim Chi this morning... OMGGGGGGosh!!!!!!! You GUYS....It's SOOOOO GOOD!!!!! I can't stop eating it!!!! I had the ingredients and it looked so simple to make, I just HAD to make it!!!!

    Here's the Photo:

I need a resteraunt, yau'll!!!! This has become such a passion for me!!!! :)

OK Renee based on your glowing recommendation I just made the kimchee. There wasn't much liquid in the dressing. And it called for 1 tablespoon of salt. Did you do it exactly? Do the flavors mingle overnight even though there wasn't much dressing? Of course I could just wait till tomorrow but just wondered if you did it exactly. Thanks

Yes, I followed Alissa's directions EXACTLY...except I added Mung Bean Sprouts. I too wondered..."HUMMM...what's this gonna taste like? Not much dressing!!!!" But, I was pleasantly surprised!!! The flavors just mingled together the longer it sat. Also, the Napa Cabbage easily wilts when in marinade. It's good to me!!! And, my Sydnei couldn't stop eating it!!! She had 2, YES, 2 helpings of it!!! That's BIG for Sydnei!!! She even asked for it for dinner!!!!

What the kids did, though, is make an Avacado Sandwich (Page 440 in Alissa's book..) with the Kim Chi inside of a Romaine leaf, then put the Nori around it and ate it like a Nori Roll. They LOVED making their own and rolling it up!!! Try it with the Nori! You may like it too! Let me know, o.k... :)
