    Default Helooo from Central Oregon

Hi all. I love this site and look forward to joining in the discussion. I'm coming to raw food with maybe a minority outlook: I love to run marathons and especially trail marathons! So there was this trepidation about not getting enough calories/protein, etc., etc. I'm not afraid of that anymore, after my initial weight loss of about 8 pounds, then subsequent stabilization of weight (from 139 to 131). I'm not 100% yet. I'm not 90% yet, either, but I am definitely 75%! :) I've only in the last 2 months cut out meat.
I have goals to go further. That's why I'm here!

I spend my time out on the trails here in Oregon, a LOT of time in the kitchen with new recipes, and time with my dogs and foster dogs.

    Happy to be here!

I run too! I love trail running. we have quite a few trails in cali to run on plus the weather is always beautiful. I noticed I can actually run better and I can run right after meals too. I think meat is harder to digest because I noticed after a meal with meat (which has been forever!) I thought I would puke after running only a 1/4 mile.

    Default Training for Triathlon

    Hi RawMarathoner and welcome!

I am training for a triathlon and have been 100% raw for 33 days.

Already my endurance has increased and my recovery time has decreased.

If you are not familiar with Brendan Brazier, check out his books. he is a vegan professional athlete with excellent guidance around exercise-specific nutrition. Most of his recipes have raw options, e.g., energy drinks and gel, recovery puddings, etc.

    Here's a link:
