    Default Another newbie, in Seattle

I've known about raw foods for awhile, but never thought I could actually become a raw foodist. I've hated veggies for years, which is the basis of the food blog I write. Yet somehow, through my green smoothies and my quests to eat just one baby carrot, I've started to LIKE raw foods. Not all of them, but quite a lot! Enough that I'm wondering if I could actually do this raw food thang. :)

I love green smoothies and am currently addicted to kale chips! Oh wow, those things are delicious. I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can come up with!

    Thumbs up

Welcome grassdirtcorn! You can do it!! You are very lucky to be in Seattle - there is quite a big raw food community there, with lots of restaurants and health food stores - and lots of support there. I'm jealous! Good luck on your raw journey!:)

Welcome! I always tell people that they only think they hate veggies. With raw you finally get to taste what food really tastes like and everything is so much more enjoyable. I also thought it would be so difficult to be raw and it turned out to be super easy. Easier than any other way of health eating.

Welcome! This is my second rediscovery of raw food and when I made the initial choice to go raw two years ago, it was the best decision of my life! I had bad endometriosis before I went raw and now my doctors maintain that I am fertile, so I can't conclude that my condition improved as a result of going raw, but the health benefits of raw are amazing!

Hey, welcome! I'm another newbie in Seattle too. I'm still transitioning - I have a tendency to jump in to things and then being overwhelmed, so I'm working on easing my way in. But I'd love to chat with you!

Thanks all! :) It's great to "meet" you. Ever since I started eating kale chips for brekkies every morning, I've noticed that my taste buds, which had been slowly changing, are now QUICKLY changing, and I'm sitting here next to three vegan cookies I bought that I have no interest in. I took two bites out of one, the second one mostly to confirm what I noticed with the first: I don't want it. This is so strange. It's a COOKIE.

What really sounds good is a smoothie with some fresh blackberries and peaches. Who am I? What happened to me? :)
