    Default What do you like

Hi guys, I'm from New Zealand and I'm going to be holding a raw vegan workshop for teenagers. I thought I'd show them how to make some green smoothies because if they don't change there diet any other way at least the green smoothies will help. But what sort of meals would you like to see at a workshop? I want to make this really fun and taste so that the kids can go home and do it all for themselves. Any ideas would be fantastic.

Jennifer Cornbleet's One-Bowl Brownies -- my nieces, ages 3 and 5, helped me make them recently. I bet Teens would love them!

My kids really love chocolate ice cream made with frozen bananas, cocoa, walnuts, vanilla, honey, and salt. Mommy does, too=) I just make it in the vitamix and dont bother with the ice cream maker. You can firm it up by putting it in the freezer. If it gets too hard, just set in on the counter for a few minutes. It is very scoopable and ice creamy.=)

Although they are way too sweet for me (to eat for breakfast anyway) my son loves Ani Phyo's donut holes.

Default Here are a few thoughts....

In terms of meal options as opposed to things that are snacks I would say things that dont look or smell too "weird". I remember growing up being sent to school with leftovers from a vegetarian health conscious mum not particularly enjoying having things which were "funny" looking or pungent in smell. Also things which arent too hard to transport such as raw crackers or whatever, I still find lugging a big salad in my bag a pain! So I would agree with wraps as well. Raw smooties are great if you have a good blender, I would suggest lettuce or spinich in these though as they are less pungent in taste to get used to. I guess something like zucchini/courgette hummus would be good too and maybea few other dips and sauces and maybe stuffed peppers as they are coming into season or quinoa tabouleah(which I have never actually made). I dunno, these are just my thoughts on it.

    Keep us(me) posted!!!

Hey thanks for the ideas, I'm thinking perhaps things that you can pack for your lunch would be the way to go. Add a few real yummy thinks like chocolates. Smoothies for the brain and hopefully they will love it. Will keep you posted.
