    Default Kids, raw, & deficiencies???

I've been reading somethings that kids on all raw have problems. Teeth, growing, fatigue, etc. I know when we tried all raw, I could not keep my son full and he was tired a lot. I know greens, nuts, & seeds are higher in protein, but what do others do? The things I've read also said that those that are all raw tend to give their kids some meat or things not raw to "fill in the blanks". For us, when I started giving my son meat along with whatever we were having, he didn't feel tired during the day anymore.
Has anyone out there had blood work done to see that everything is where it should be for their kids that are raw? I'm just trying to learn and see what the experience has been for others:)
    Thanks.

Give them more fruits, kids have fast metabolism and are very active usually playing around all the time, so they need energy.

Don't they take all kids in the school for a check (including blood/urine) once a year or so? At least this is how it was for me until university.

In any case, I wouldn't worry that much about the micronutrients, if you have a balanced raw diet you'll get your vitamins, minerals, etc. It's much more important to get the carbs/fat/protein right.

My daughter is a raw baby and she is thriving, lol... It has been a very long time since she took a nap during the day. She is full of energy and vitality.

Wow, i can barely keep up with her, lol....

I am not an expert but i feel in my heart that we need to let go this none sense that they need to have a portion of this and a portion of that everyday, like this food guideline. I of course supplement her with b12 and Vitamin D on winter but i try to incorporate as much rich food i can in her diet. I know she needs more calories then an adult and ommega 3/6 etc... I simply take care of this for her smoothies. She has smoothie for brakefeast and through the day on top of normal raw food. She loves vegetable juice too

You will find what works for you and you can try to consult with someone that knows about diet and do RAW FOOD. Very important they do raw food otherwise they will push the soya. You have an instinct, take and leave, most of all you are always provided with the perfect intuition for your child, your bound with them is powerful TRUST THAT.

I give my daughter goji berries, golden berries, chia seeds and hemp seeds everyday. This is mix in her smoothie then i blend with fruits mainly banana strawberry and other fruits. I add at time, spirulina, 3elive, sunflower sprout or different greens.

She loves coconut icecream that i make, cookies with buckweat, pizza with flax seed etc...

Get the book RAWSOME by Brigitt Mars, it is inexpensive and very informative about nutrient.

At first my daughter only wanted strawberry, banana and hemp seeds smoothie. Sometime, she craves for tomato, other time a different food. Just keep giving a little bit of everything and at some point, they will crave for specific food.

I feel our body store nutrients and will tell you what it wants, this is why, i let go my worries now about a food guidleline. She weights perfect and her height is perfect.

Keep reading and research. Children want to be healthy and they love raw food. They don't want to be control but you certainly can find creative way to inspire them.

    All the best

When I was over with Storm and Jinjee quite a few years ago, what I noticed is they ate a lot of fruit. It was there for whenever they wanted it and, they wanted it.

    She is now 5

She isn't a good example of what to feed to your child because she didn't want to try different flavor and texture for the longest time but here is what i remember

I nursed up to 4 years old due that she wasn't eating enough variety but my last year of providing my milk was a very little amount.

15 months: Smoothie made mainly of organic frozen strawberry (has to be organic due to the excessive amount of pesticid present), hemp seeds, banana and spring water. Sometime, i would use blueberries.

When she started teething, i would add green in her smoothie, e3lives and try to use different fruit. She then started to get fussy and i had to stick to strawberry, hemp seeds and banana up to 3 year old and half. She had blood work done and everything was fine. She was a little low in B12, Iron and Vitamin A.

Right after she would accept different flavor. I would add plantain banana, papaya, pear, kiwi, B12, Brandon Brazier proteing powder, coconut water or watever was in season. I love also to include cilantro or sunflower sprout in her smoothie. I also used a little bit of MSM when she was about 2 year and half (Neutralize mercury). Gojji berries for the vitamin A and Iron. Kale, microgreen whatever was in season

Once she started chewing, she could never have enough of tomato, then she phased with pear. She loved apple. She loved also avocado. She still eat her smoothie as breakfast, which everyday, i have still the same basic ingredient and always chia seed, golden berries and gojji berry, supplement with Q enzyme Q 10, raw vegan oil (6,9).

She now loves vegetable juice, raw pizza (tomato sauce, mushroom on a flaxseed crackers). She loves all kind of raw baking i do such pankake, cookies, cup cake and muffin. Her favorite is the coconut icecream (made with young coconut, raw honey and vanilla beans). I never give her raw cacao until she was 4 year old and half, i will make a mixe of chocolate icecream and vanilla. She likes raw mushroom, brocoli, avocado and lately she is eating Allissa mock salmon. She loves also young coconut noddles with a tomato sauce.

I now add a raw vegan D3 vitamin in her smoothie due to winter.

She is radiant of health she had caught many cold due that she put stuff in her mouth but she would get back on her feet fairly quickly. Last time she got weight by the dietician and measured her height was above average and her weight withing the normal.

I can barely keep up with her, she is so full of energy.

I try now to incorporate as much variety as in season as possible. I am so thrilled that she is into vegetable juice (celery, carrot and beet).
