As per my review you can perform Bicycle crunches. This exercise if done properly and on a daily basis will bring in extremely good and fast results. It will also ensure that you get that perfect V-shaped body that you always just dreamed of.You need to sleep on your back with your knees bent, and then with your hands kept on the chest lift your shoulders off the ground.

I'm going to chime in here to say yes, pilates. :) I used one of Mari Winsors videos when I was getting myself back into it after a break, and she's good. I think it goes too fast though, as pilates is about the quality of the moves you are doing, not the quantity.
No specific exercise will make you lose belly fat - you lose fat evenly, everywhere and for that you need cardio - but pilates will help you tone up your core. Make sure that you're engaging your transverse abdominal muscles, not your rectals, or you'll be building muscle OUT instead of cinching your waist in.

Diet and cardio do a number on belly fat, if done right as many have said so no more about that. But core exercise like Pilates gets to the muscles that really pull IN the abs. I just started up a Pilates mat class offered at my gym myself, in addition to my regular workouts and cardio, as core exercise seems to be the missing piece for me especially as I had a back injury 7 years ago. Stuff like crunches and more traditional abdominal exercise, while good, really only gets to the muscles closer to the surface. This is why someone can have gorgeous abs(like a body builder), and still have a bad back. This is the mat class I'm taking, taught by a dancer. A couple of people at my gym recommended it as I was curious. It took me a little while to actually get to the class, but I'm glad I did already. It kicks butt. One might not think one is doing all that much strength-wise until one tries it, and afterward. The exercises take a LOT of control and mind-body focus so that alone is beneficial.
One other thing to consider about belly fat, is that if one is under a prolonged stress of any sort, the body produces cortisol from the adrenals, and that cortisol in excess is notorious for packing on belly fat, even in the presence of a good diet for some people.

A easy way to loose weight is to follow my tips:

1-Eat 100% plant based diet made up of 70% vegetables
2-Exercise 1 hour per day, any moderate activity or just walking is so good for you.
3-Eat alot of vegan proteins 50-70 grams including nuts, seeds and pules.
4-Do some strenght training targeting total body or individual body parts

    Good luck

    Default Bellys!

I have a very flat upper stomach but a horrible big jelly belly below! Hope you're not eating right now. Is this symbolic of a certain type of problem in the digestion does anyone know? What exercises would you suggest on 100% raw where there is a lot of weight to lose? The main problem area is my tummy but also tops of legs and arms. Any help really appreciated, thanks x:)

to Jennifred - how old are you? Reason I ask is that women commonly get lower belly fat after menopause because of the shifting of weight, which can be a real drag when one is accustomed to being slim lifelong. However, all is not lost - it's just more challenging to get rid of this. But you're ahead of the game by going raw, as you are eliminating foods that are problematic for post-menopausal women, namely cooked refined starchy carbs(even cooked UNREFINED carbs can do it too). You see, digestion of starches in general slows down a good bit after menopause, creating the situation where more calories from starch are absorbed instead of being moved along like a younger person.
If you are a good bit younger than menopausal age range, then maybe this might be where your body naturally stores fat and it's often the last to go on a fat-loss program as many women(including myself)will tell you. Go raw, and get onto a good strength-training program(building muscle which over time will shape your body beautifully), cardio exercise for fat-burning, and serious core work which will help to bring in that tummy. Pilates mat classes are super for this latter. I just started up with these in the last three and a half weeks and I can say that they are very challenging and I'm starting to notice a teeny bit of a difference already, even at the age of nearly 63(on Monday to be exact) so I'm sure things will improve even more as I go along. With the raw, and firming up through proper exercise, you will reshape your body according to its genetic possibilities. Diet is huge for affecting belly fat. Hope this helps!

I have been doing the Five Tibetian Rites for a few weeks and I think that it has changed to shape of my tummy.
The best thing is that it is also doing the rest of my body good at the same time.

    Talking hooping

There are new hoops out now that are larger and filled with water for weight. I was never able to hula hoop as a child because I've always been overweight. I can honestly say that hooping has changed my life. I started hooping last fall, and my waist has significantly shrunk. Hooping burns just as many calories as running, and tones you up at the same time. Plus, I've never met anyone who didn't have a blast while hooping. Check out my local hoop maker's site on facebook "Hoopla Hoops".

Just kidding! My trainer insists Cardio is the best exercise to get rid of belly fat. I know Green Smoothies help from the inside, so maybe a combination of both?

tloftus - I just took up hooping about a month ago(posted about this under July Fitness), and yes, it's fun. I have the last of my 5-class beginner series on Tuesday and I got a LOT out of the class. Our instructor takes us through our paces for 90 minutes with a lot of off-body moves with the hoop that really get people going and working up a good sweat - so yes, this is a great workout and a definite change of pace from the gym's cardio machines or going out running. I'm not a runner, so I can't say about that. I do feel like my waist is starting to come down already which I didn't expect this soon. I'll be happy to lose another inch or inch and a half though - then I'll be very tight.

I second this for a toned midsection! I have a large 1 lb, and a 5lb hoop. they are much easier then the lightweight ones. The nice thing about hooping, is that it gives a nice nipped in hourglass shape to the abs, not just a straight wall of muscle like you can get with some other exercise. belly dance is another fabulously fun workout.... It's amazing the different muscles you use when you try it.. there are so many isolations you can do there :).

On another note, sometimes people that collect lower belly fat ( I can easily be in that boat lol) may have high cortisol levels. High cortisol eats up muscle too, so that may be the case if you are doing resistance type exercise, but having trouble gaining/retaining muscle tone. How's the stress level?

I have the same issue. I'm thin, but I have a hard time getting muscle. My sister (a homeopathic chiropractor) thinks it has to do with my lack of digesting protein. I've been on supps for a little over a month hoping with time it will help.

I've tried every exercise/ certain foods to eat/ not eat.....
it's frustrating but I just hope the longer I'm raw & the supps will help with time after my body has done all the healing it needs to do.

BTW....how old are you? I'm 27....hope that helps

I have had this problem for years and it shows mostly in my thighs. I could never build muscle there and I put it down to 35 years of vegetarianism.
I must say that I have a fairly flat tummy though and if I was younger than my 58 years I would happily trot out in a bikini. This is due to The Five Tibetan Rites.

Yeah it kinda sucks...not gonna like, especially when I eat raw. But I kinda think that I've only been raw for almost 2 years, so my body has been through so much for the 20 plus years before. When it's time it will release, but I like to find ways to see if something will work, so I'll try anything.

Eating fruit for one month helped (all my body craved)
but then it fluctuated due to me eating nuts (thinking the protein would help LOL)---that's actually how I figured out I couldn't digest them

Then I ate fruit for another month (all my body craved) but this time no weight was released. I felt better though. I think the body craves things at certain times for certain reasons. It's a battle for me to be patient with it sometimes though :)

You can count your calories and fat grams to keep track of what you're eating. Doing sit-ups will help and also walking while flexing your abs will give you a better workout.
