    Default August 19th - Day 19

    Welcome to day 19!

Yesterday went well! Today is going to be a bear ... dentist this morning for me and the kiddos, Chiropractor this afternoon for the whole family and a friend is coming over for dinner. AND I'm sick, not detox, I felt it coming on Tuesday night, then progressively got worse yesterday and this morning UGH. Oh well, my mind set is still right which is more than half the battle. I guess we will take today off from school, I know I can't do it all.

So, last night I cooked baked acorn squash for the rest of my family and I took my raw half of a squash and made pasta out of it and tossed it with some tomatoes, curry powder, sea salt and fresh ground pepper - it was ok. I had that on my salad. My hubby gave me a little bit of a hard time that I didn't make him some but he got over it. He is hooked on my superfood shakes, he's even telling the guys at work about them. He even had me SHOW HIM how to make them.

I'm hoping to get some crackers in the dehydrator today but we shall see.

    Food for today:
    Superfood Shake
Apples tossed with some honey and apple pie spices with some walnuts
    A banana
Large Salad (hopefully with some wilted spinach salad and cheesy sauce)
Chocolate Cream Pie (I skipped it last night because I wasn't feeling good)

    Have a GREAT raw day!

    Blessings,
    Heather

1 portion size serving cucumber as crudites; hommus -checked out most likely not raw. Did a search on raw chickpeas in hommus and the feedback is mixed, I have to finish off this hommus for now.

I've tried sprouting chickpeas and making raw hummus, I personally didn't care for it but really liked something like this (this recipe was posted in the recipes thread)

    Rawvolution No-Bean Hummus
    2 Zucchini, peeled & chopped
¾ cup Tahini (or ¾ cup Sesame Seeds, ground)
    ½ cup Lemon juice
    ¼ cup Olive Oil
    2-4 Garlic cloves, chopped
    2 ½ tsp Salt
½ Tbs Cumin or cayenne powder
    Optional: Parsley
    Blend.

    Blessings,
    Heather

    Default Jumping in here!

I know I'm a bit late an all .... but I've been raw the whole month so I'm jes gunna slide ;) right in here!!

currently I'm hooked on chia seed pudding with frozen grapes!
Haven't been too much prep on foodz -- mostly just eating easy to grab raw stuffs. I have my stash of Alissa's recipe Flax seed crackers - my ALWAYS on hand staple!!! and some onion bread in the fridge, those two and making a salad is the most prep I've made in about -mmm... maybe two months now? Lots of fresh fruit has been added to my menu - I had a LOT of trouble eating fruit for a long time, the sugar would make me dizzy, sleepy and confused (how wierd huh?) but like all the experienced Rawbies said... your body will balance out and you will be able to add fruit in a little at a time... and here I am... A fruit eating RAWbie (and so happy cuz I looovez fruit!)

Hello, everyone, I am feeling much better today. I had an amazing experience today which I chronicled in my blog. Feel free to read it (warning, Christian faith talk). It just made my day so I am much more optimistic today.

B: Green smoothie with mustard greens, cherries, cashews coconut oil, made by dd.
    L: handful of walnuts.
S: Basil Pesto Pizza with mushrooms and green peppers. BOY was it good. Ate a little too much of it but I was SO hungry after my busy day!
Snack: daughter whipped up some chocolate cherry ice cream only to find the freezer container was not frozen so that is on the menu for tomorrow. But now I have my mouth set so I think I will make a chocolate banana shake. I lost two pounds this week so that explains the detox feelings I have been going through. YAY!

Starfire I have heard so much about you and read some in your blog (you are the reason I add coconut oil to my smoothies) so I am really glad to see you back!

    I’ve had:

Mixed fruit salad: grapes, kiwi, pineapple, apple, pawpaw, watermelon.
    A small pawpaw (papino).
    1 custard apple
    Small piece coconut
    Dried peaches

    Leavy salad
    Pecan nuts
    Olive oil
Cranberries (strictly not raw because of the sugar)
    Tomatoes
    Sugar snaps peas
    Tenderstem broccoli

    Avo with chili sauce.

It was a very good day for me. Went to the gym. Was very tired afterwards, went to bed early!
