Hi Y'All!
My name is Fran. I've been a vegetarian (vegan diet) since 1984 and was taught that at least 70% raw was best, however, the folks who taught kinda scoffed at the raw vegan diet and I listened. They knew better than I did.
As God would have it, I came across the paths of people like Viktoras Kulvinskas, Doug Graham and others who opened my eyes to investigate more. The clincher was seeing Alissa on the Tyra Banks show when they had the diet wars. I was most impressed by the results and experiences of the two ladies that worked with Alissa. That was about a year ago and I've been educating myself and increasing my knowledge since then.
I currently work full-time in NYC so have access to some great restaurants like Raw Soul, Quintessence and Bonobo's. Yes, gourmet raw, but it's the best place to start for me right now. Makes it kinda fun. Went with some friends to Quintessence yesterday and they were surprised at how flavorul the food was as well as the texture. I look forward to visiting Alissa's restaurant in Boston some day soon.
I'm getting ready to purchase a dehydrator today as I'm anxious to have raw "bread" and crackers as I love chips, but with them being fried I know it's definitely not the best for this body.
