    [QUOTE=ReneeH;554636]WEEK 4: DAY 26

    Annie,

(I'm REALLY CRYING!!!!) I REALLY am!!! Thank you!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this beautiful message!

Well, it wasn't my intention to make you cry! (You must have been needing the release...lol!)

After all the time you have spent logging your daily actions, I think a thank you was the least I could do.

My goal is to take Alissa's Certification Class!!! I can't WAIT to take it (when I can afford it...) so that I can learn more from her to be a "real" teacher!!!

I, too, want to do this, not so much to be a real teacher, but just to "sit at her feet" with other like-minded people and soak up as much as I can.

I love how Alissa explains how to handle cooking for a SAD family! I have been doing exactly what she says: NOT standing over the stove cooking, Freezing meals for them, Making sure that I have plenty of food for myself.,,

For all of my married life I have cooked meals ahead because I have lived a busy lifestyle. Monday has always been my day "at home." I do laundry and cook ahead for the week. I always at least double a recipe if it is something that will freeze, and cook half and freeze half. So, I am ahead of the game there, but, at some point, I am still spending a lot of time cooking for SAD. And when I am cooking SAD I always make sure I have plenty of my food already prepared, so I can stay satisfied. (BTW: For me, the hardest thing about being raw and cooking SAD is not tasting for seasonings, salt, etc. I do not taste because I don't want to decide I want more than a taste!)

I'm hoping to hear there will be a 2nd 30 Days thread. Please say yes.

And, again, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    Annie

"Which brings me to this: Would you consider starting another thread: "My 2nd 30 days"?
I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!!! WHAT A FABULOUS IDEA!!! I would LOVE to do that!!! There are so many more recipes I want to try!!! Thank you so much for this idea!!!"

This brought a huge smile to my face.. I have loved your thread and visited and gotten excited over and over... I know it is helping me get in lots more raw!! And I drool over the recipes... many of which I have tried...
It is not hard, costly or difficult to be raw.. It is a grand adventure and your thread is witness to that!
    Best,
    LN

    ReneeH,

What a feeling to be "on top of the world." For all you have done the last 30 days for us, all the gratitude and praise you have received, even from Alissa is well deserved. I'm so happy for you and for all of us who have benefited!!!!! :)

That being said I would like to add my own gratitude. This has become my favorite thread, and I look forward to anticipation each new post that you and others' add to it.

I very much want this to continue and expand. You have inspired so many and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see more of us posting our own recipe journey.

    You really rawk girl!

    Blessings and peace,

    Marcia

Thumbs up WEEK 4: Day 27

MBlessed, I'm so glad that I inspired you!!! So many people on this Site inspire me!!!

Here's what I had tonight for dinner after my Smoothie:

Alissa's Falafel w/Salad and Mashed Potatoes on the side. I'm SO STUFFED!!! I froze my Falafel, but it didn't freeze hard as a rock. Instead it was crispy on the outside and firm on the inside. The flavors mixed well with my salad!!! I didn't have any more gravy for the Potatoes...ate all of it when I made it a couple of days ago!!! I only made 1/2 of the recipe, so this is the end of it, though...

I just read the thread last night, pictures and all. I am SO buying Alissa's book and DVD combo! If you can do it on a schedule that takes you all over the place, there's absolutely no excuse for me, is there? I'm so happy to see you're doing another 30 days. I can't wait to see what amazing food/awesome progress this month brings.

    You're RAWesome!

    Hello, ReneeH, my Texas neighbor!

I'd like to add my gratitude to this wonderful thread. (I just read your entire thread -- I had been unavailable for the past month to follow it regularly.)

What a true inspiration you are! Your enthusiasm is so infectious! Thank you for taking the time to post and photograph and pour out your heart to all of us. Your excitement is palpable.

I hope that our paths cross in Katy/Houston. I'd love to meet you.

Keep up the fabulous, RAWsome work!

I'm thrilled to hear that the 2nd 30 days is going to happen. And exercise, too! Maybe you want to take measurements - no, you don't have to post them, lol! But I wish I had done that. I've lost so many inches, but I really don't know how many. But at the end of the 2nd 30 you can tell us how many inches bit the dust.

Thanks again, for all your efforts.

Even though it is Sept 8th, would I be able to jump in on this challenge for this month? I need to give myself a kick in the butt and be accountable :)

    Thanks

I made a feast last night, inspired to try some new recipes by your post, Renee. :)

I made Alissa's imitation Crab recipe + Cucumber sauce + sprouted bread + oil/salt dip + lemon pudding for dessert!

My fiance, who is not High Raw anymore but still loves his daily Green Smoothies + lots of raw foods, LOVED IT!!!

We took pictures... I love the way you're posting pics of all your culinary triumphs, Renee... you have such a lovely, high-energy vibe about RAW! :)

    I love raw, too!

    Default Week 4: Day 28

Green Woman: that's FABULOUS!!! Wish I were there to taste your creation!!!

Sandy: Way to go!!! I can't wait to read about how the rest of your month is going!!! RAWSOME!!!

I had a Salad today and a LOT of FLax Crackers!!! I "nibbled" a lot today...had a LOT of Bananas... Hey, have you guys tried Alissa's Corn Chips? They are Da BOMB!!!!!! I've had these lots of times! You gotta try them, if you haven't!!! I've made them both ways (with frozen and fresh corn)... I think I like fresh better!!!

I'm looking through the book to get my menu together for my next 30 days!!! I will post my list tomorrow so you can see what I'm gonna make!!! I'm picking some easy recipes (with few ingredients) and a few more complicated ones (where I'll have to do some sprouting...which isn't REALLY difficult!!!)

Oh, BTW...RAWSugarGal took measurements on me right before I started my 30 days!!! I didn't tell anyone because I wanted to wait till I was done and post them... Well, now you're gonna have to wait till I'm finished the whole 60 days!!!! HAAAAA!!!! Sorry!!! I will not measure till then so that I won't get discouraged....hope you understand...

Aww, Renee, c'mon........tell us how many inches you've lost. You do know, don't you, that we aren't going to let you stop nurturing us after 60 days, so just do it! Inquiring minds want to know.

And an idea for your next 30 days: Alissa's (actually she says it's Elaina Love's) Spinach Mushroom Quiche is absolutely awesome. I couldn't believe how wonderful the crust smelled when it was dehydrating. This recipe is kind of "fiddley" but it is good! In my "Before Renee" days, I would have only made half, but I made the full recipe and ate 1/8th, kept 1/8th in the fridge for today, and sliced the rest and dehydrated it some more and froze it. Yay!! I'm getting my freezer stash going.

My raw food journey is now defined as BR (Before Renee) and AR (After Renee).

    You go, girl!

    Morning everyone!!!

Here is my menu for the next 30 days. Almost all of these Recipes are found in Alissa's Living On Live Food Book (see page numbers). I am remaking a couple of my favorites from the 1st 30 days, and I did pick 3 from this RFT Site, and one from RAWvolution (book by Matt Amsden). You can also get that recipe here on RFT:

    WEEK 1:

Bananas, Berries, & Cream (Pg 443)
    Eggplant Parmesean (Pg 402)
Spinach Mushroom Quiche (ANNIE TWISTED MY ARM!!!!) (Pg 433)
    Banana Leather (Pg 524)
Angel Hair Pasta w/Marinara Sauce (Pg 395)
    Zippy Tomato Soup (Pg 360)
    Snicker Bites (RFT)

    WEEK 2:

    Almost Tuna Pate (Pg 383)
RAWvolution's Famous Onion Bread (RAWvolution Book by Matt Amsden)
    RAWritos (from RFT)
    Easy Slaw (Pg 458)
Marinated Portabella in Ginger Vin. (Pg 295)
    Elaina's Cinnamon Rolls w/Frosting (Pg 514)
    Enchaladas (Pg 387)

    WEEK 3:

    Raw Ravioli (Pg 397)
    Eggplant Bacon (RFT)
    Pineapple Boats (Pg 464)
    Carrot Cake (Pg 490)
    Banana Crackers (Pg 347)
    Corn Chowder (Pg 356)
    Banana Bread (Pg 331)

    WEEK 4:

    Calzones (Pg 390)
    Mango Pie (Pg 496)
    Cucumber Wheels (Pg 300)
    Creamy Pea Soup (Pg 357)
Raw Veggie Stir Fry (Pg 430)

I will be logging my Exercising as well. I went and got a "dreaded" Pedometer!!! I can't do it every day...especially when I get in from a RED EYE Flight, but I'm going to find a schedule that works for me.

Today I will be finishing up my Noasted Turkey w/a Salad, having a Green Smoothie, and Fruit. I think I feel like having the Banana Icecream too! Just keeping it simple today...

Actually, I don't know!!! REALLY!!!! LOL!!! I know that my uniform is fitting looser... RAWSugarGal is gonna do my stats again after my next 30 days...PROMISE!!!

I did step on the scale last week and saw a 10 pound loss!!!! The last time I did the 30 days, I had lost 23 Pounds....but, I WAS EXERCISING DURING THAT TIME. I think that made the difference for me, so that's why I'm doing the next 30 days WITH EXERCISING. My focus will be on health, though. Cuz I know that the weight loss WILL come eventually. I'm in it for the LONG HAUL Yau'll!!! :)

    Renee,

I think 10 pounds is great!:):) I am with you on the exercise though. I have been doing raw and my weight loss is much slower when I don't exercise. I do want slow and steady but I know that adding exercise in will speed things up a little....naturally!
