Default Alissa's 30 Day Plan - Daily LOG - PHOTOS included!!!!

    Hey RAWbies!!!!

Well, I'm going back to the basics!!! I'm committing myself to Alissa's 30 day plan to it's completion!!! I'm following EVERY recipe to the letter and taking photos along the way!!!!! I am going to do the plan EXACTLY as outlined in her book!!!! I'm TOTALLY excited about this!!! I know I can do it!!! :)

I've been doing this lifestyle for 2 years now....off and on. Actually, more on than off I'm happy to say!!! However, because of not doing it completely, I have not lost all of the weight that I have been wanting to lose and I still have some of the same ailments and body aches I had after discovering this lifestyle 2 years ago. Well, my friend, all of that is going to change! I'm tired of waking up with thoughts about this... I'm gonna JUST DO IT!!!!

So, Alissa says in her book, if you get off of the diet, you need to start all over. So, that's what I'm doing!!! I appreciate all of the encouragement you can give me!

I didn't have all of my supplies this morning, so I started out with a Banana for Breakfast and a Veggie Roll with a Green Smoothie for Lunch. When I went to the store after lunch, so here's what I made for dinner:

    Large Salad
Alissa's Not Tuna Pate (THIS WAS HEAVENLY!!! AND SO SIMPLE!!! I REALLY loved it on her Flax Cracker!!!)
    Alissa's Dressing
    (DELICIOUS!!!)

Tonight I'm making Alissa's Date Nut Torte and Fettichini Alfredo to prepare to eat for tomorrow. So, DAY 1 and DAY 2 will be taken care of tonight!!!!

Oh, BTW, my grocery bill came to: $37.09 (I did have a lot of "staples" already, though...)

Thank you so much for your beautiful book, Alissa!!! ((((HUGS))))

    Go Renee!

Curios, what does "Off" the diet constitute? I am integrating occassional off meals on weekends so my social life isn't murdered (rather than off days, which was my initial concept after 30 days pure raw). I had instant negative feedback after exceeding one off meal and went back to pure raw and feel good again.

I heard that if you don't go overboard (say, just a weeked rather than a week) you can do a 1-day juice fast/feast to snap you back.

Well, for me, it was going back to SAD food, occasionally. The RAW lifestyle can be challenging when you still have to cook for your family, as in my case. But, it's NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Alissa outlines in her book what to do, even in that situation. I just need to follow what she recommends. I do find that when I have RAW food on hand, it's less challenging than when I don't.

What does "going overboard" mean? I think it's all in how you think of it. Is this a "lifestyle" or not? For me, doing just a weekend was not enough to experience the changes I want to make. Alissa makes a point in her book when she says to COMMIT do it for 30 days. I actually did do the entire 30 days before and I did lose 23 pounds! I think if I want RAW to truly be a "lifestyle" for me, then I need stick to it rather than allowing myself to get off.

Yes! I'm gonna try to... Thanks for the encouragement!!!

    ================================================== =====

Today I had Watermelon this morning and 2 Bananas. Then I had a nice piece of Date Nut Torte!!! Talk about YUMMY!!!! I'm still licking my lips!!!! I had forgotten how DELICIOUS it is...and SOOOO easy to make!!!

For Lunch, I chose not to make the Fettichini Alfredo because I remembered that I didn't like it much the first time. How wonderful the flexibility of the "diet" is!!! Alissa says that you can make a substitution for another recipe in the book, so I had some of Alissa's Enchalada Bread left over and I chose to make the inside of the Enchaladas and put it on the flat Bread and eat it like a tostada!!! YUMMY!!!!

Going overboard in terms of OFF the diet, not the other way around. I didn't mean raw only on weekends I meant if you cheated on a weekend (after being raw all week) as opposed to going 'overboard', which for me would mean more than a meal or two cooked or SAD, more like a week.

After 5 weeks 100% raw, I go off the diet if I really want to or have to (social situations) on weekends and find it very easy to stay raw 80-90% most of the time.

I agree it has to be a LIFESTYLE (a great one!) and the 30 day plan helps you to do two things, experience real changes AND form a new behavior and break old patterns. Good luck!

Yay!! I love that you are being flexible so the plan works for you! THAT is how people enjoy making it through 30 days and beyond. :)

I'm sorry if I miss understood you...what you're saying about cheating is a bit confusing to me... I guess what I'm trying to say is that my goal is not to cheat at all...to do the diet the way that Alissa outlines in her book. To even entertain the thought of going "off" is not what I want to do.

Maybe that sounds "rigid" to some people, but not to me. I guess you have to do what works for you. It's all in what you want to achieve. I've seen threads on this site that will tell you that there is a HUGE difference between 99% and 100%. I honestly want to experience the 100%. I kinda compare it to trying to quit smoking (of course, I've never smoked, but...). If you allow yourself to have a hit every now and then, you haven't really "quit"...

I do wish you success in what you are trying to do as well! :)

Wish I could take credit, but I "figured it out" by looking at an old e-mail that Jenna sent me! Here's what she said:

Just go to www.PhotoBucket.com and click on "Join" and create a username and password. Then you'll have your very own album to add pictures to! You can upload them directly from your camera. After you upload the photos, you'll see in your album beneath the picture different codes for it. Choose the one that says "IMG Code" and click on it (It will look like this: [IMG]http://img.phot..) and it will say "copied". Then take that code and paste it into your reply on RawFoodTalk and the image will show up nice and big :)

    BTW, Eva...LUV your SITE!!! :)

    Default Day 4!!!

    Hey everyone!!!!

I've been having a tremendously stressful day! In the past when I have a day like this, it makes me nibble on SAD chips or cookies...things I know I don't need! Now, I'm recognizing this in myself and I'm not allowing myself to give in to it. I have some RAWritos that I made a week or so ago, I'll have that with Pico de Gallo , and later I'll have Alissa's flax crackers w/Almond Butter/Banana/Agave, Or, I could have some more Torte....So, I'm gonna nibble on those instead.

I'm SOOOO glad that I made enough food so that I won't need to "Uncook" anything for myself!!! I have made plenty of food, thanks to Alissa's huge recipes, and I'm all set for the next couple of days! I'll still check in, though... :)

    Today: 1/2 Watermelon
    A few Bananas
    A few Oranges
    Bowl of Pad Thai
(DELICIOUS! It's funny, I didn't like it when I made it 2 years ago, but I gave it another try and I'm glad I did!!!!)

    Later: Salad w/Not Salmon Pate
    Green Smoothie

Have a RAWSOME day everyone!!!! :)

Default Day 5 and 6 (Today)

    Morning everyone!!!

Yesterday I rested a lot...(I had worked the RED EYE the night before), and I ate just FRUIT (Bananas, Grapes, and Watermelon) and an Eggplant Bacon Wrap with a few Olives. I also had a Green Smoothie (H2O. Spinach, Bananas, Mango)...but that's it. I just wasn't in the mood for anything with nuts in it, so I still have some leftovers from Week 1 to eat for today. I'll fix the Collard Wrap today for Lunch and have the rest of the Pad Thai for Dinner.

Last night while I was in bed, I started having "visions" of Hot Wings... I remembered what Alissa says in the book not to entertain the thought, so I'm happy to say that I didn't!!! :) I started nibbling on some Grapes and thinking to myself,

"These taste so good! And, they make me feel good! RAW food is so good for me!!!"

And, that got me through it!!! Before I knew it, the SAD thoughts were gone and I was so happy and proud of myself that I didn't give in!!!
