    Exclamation I need beans!!!

I really need some recipes that I can utilize beans in. I currently make hummus and falafals that use Chickpeas but my wife is asking me to cook beans but I am trying to not cook anything. Someone please help me out here!!!

not a lot of beans are very tasty or even easy to digest raw sprouted. one that's good all the time though is lentil. you can sprout them in about 3-4 days and they are lovely i salad. there are some nice sprout mixes out there with lentils and fenugreek and alfalfa and the like. great for sandwiches.

you can also sprout green peas which are sort of bean like. i enjoy those most as a baby green though, i find them starchy when small.

some beans are actually toxic raw so take care to research that well before including them in your diet. kidney beans are not to be eaten. soy is not advisable. and sadly, chick peas are hard on the body in terms of digestion and utilization.

what about some soaked nut and/or seed recipes for you and your wife? pates and creamy sauces might hit the spot just right.

Cooked beans and steamed vegetables seem to be popular with people who do "high raw" or who are transitioning, so her request doesn't seem too unusual.

Aduki (or azuki) beans are very tasty soaked/sprouted. I soaked mine overnight and would soak for two nights next time, changing the water every 12 hours or so. They had a very subtle sweetness to them and satisfied my bean craving. I had them with olive oil, meyer lemon juice and fresh garlic, put through a press, on them.

You could try serving them in one of these two sauces. I haven't tried either of them yet. Found them on this forum.

    Manwich Sauce
    • 2 fresh tomatoes, chopped
    • 1-cup sun-dried tomatoes
    • 1 clove garlic
    • 2 T apple cider vinegar
    • ¼ c onion, chopped
    • 8 fresh basil leaves
    • 2 dates, pitted
    • ¼ c olive oil
    • 1 tsp salt

    BBQ Sauce
    • 1 c. fresh tomatoes, chopped
    • 1/2 c. sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
    • 1/4 c. chopped onion
    • 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
    • 4 fresh basil leaves
    • 1/2 c. Medjool dates
    • 1 tsp. Celtic salt
    • Cayenne to taste
    • 1 T. olive oil
    Blend till smooth.

I've seen a few raw refried bean recipes out there, and they usually involve sunflower seeds and miso...
