    Default sick dog

while with a pet sitter in my home, my 5yo dog became ill & she didn't tell me until I was home 3 days & called her about how he was acting. He wouldn't be as bad as he is if she'd told me. Obviously, I'm struggling with this..sorry. he has a long story & we've only had him for 7 months. Anyways, now... he has kidney infection w/mild blood in urine, mild pancreatitis, yeast infection in ears & entire left facial paralysis-like a Bell's so he drools like crazy poor guy. I searched what to feed for these infections which is bland food w/rice, broccolli & carrots that I've pureed & given in small intervals. He had iv flluids today. Looks better but any suggestions? I've looked up feet & ear reflexology but can't get a free chart..anyone know of a site for one or where to apply pressure for these things.

Dogs need their natural food: raw meat. If the dog does not want to eat, let him fast on water. An animal will do this naturally until he gets better. Go to a GOOD pet store and buy something for the ears. They need to be cleaned out weekly. If he has pancreatitis, take him to a holistic vet. It's ok to play doctor with yourself, but not with another being unless you know what you are doing. Good luck!

I'd take him to a Vet. also, as soon as one opens tomorrow. He will be able to tell you what is really wrong with him and you can choose whether you want to go with it or not.

    Bad pet sitter....

there are some good holistic natural remedies for ear yeast infections--i beleive one is White vinegar & Peroxide mixture. there are others you might find online. my holistic vet book is at home....a regular vet will prescribe steroids for this---don't sue them! they only treat the symptoms not the underlying cause.

i agree with them eating raw meat--i would fast him for 24 hours (water only) then give one week of plain boiled brown rice w/ boiled chicken. then gradually add grd raw turkey or chicken to that, then as he adjusts to it, a chicken leg quarter (how big is he?) or a drumstick if he's small, or a turkey neck.
i agree with shopping at a "good pet store" but would add that means NOT Petsmart or PEtco. there is a nationwide list of Holistic vets online you can look up for your state.

    goodluck.

PS---Bell's Palsy is form a virus and helping hisd immune system with raw meat will help him overcome that--unless it was a stroke b/c the drooping facial features can also be from a stroke.

Thanks...I didn't post that I learned all of this from the vet. Took him to emergency vet on Thursday, his vet Friday & today. I fed him a bland diet of lightly steamed carrots/broccolli, rice & low fat turkey. I pureed it all & fed about every 2 hrs. I read that the pancreas would get to rest bc it wouldn't have to break it down. took him for 10 minute walks..read all this on line. Today he's about 90% better! Head tilt is less, eye is blinking some now. took him to the vet & all his labs were back to normal. She was so amazed. Asked me what I did...told her all the things along with intense prayer. She was considering steroids for today but he was so much better. He's glad to get his carrots back. He gets the pulp from my daily juicing, what will not harm him, so he waits by the juicer!
